Hello… again! As I was compiling the first newsletter (whoo!) I noticed lots of funding opportunities and upcoming grant deadlines for individual artists and orgs. The due dates below range from this Friday, January 15 to mid-March. Can’t wait to see what y’all create.
“The NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship is a $8,000 unrestricted cash grant available to artists living in New York State and/or one of the Indigenous Nations located therein.
This grant is awarded in fifteen different disciplines over a three-year period (five categories a year) and the application is free to complete. The NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship is not a project grant, but is intended to fund an artist’s vision or voice, at all levels of their artistic development.”
Application Deadline: Wednesday January 25, 2023 at 5:00 PM EST*
“The Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent unexpected medical, dental and mental health emergencies. The grants are available to artists creating in visual arts, film/video/digital/electronic arts, and choreography in financial need who are currently residing in the United States, District of Columbia, U.S. Territories, and Tribal Nations. This project is supported by the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation.”
Cycle 16 is now open with a deadline of Friday, January 13, 5:00 PM EST, for emergencies occurring April 1, 2022 and after.
“The Rauschenberg Dancer Emergency Grants program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 to professional dancers in need who have a dire financial emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences. The grants are available to dancers in financial need who are currently residing in the United States, District of Columbia, U.S. Territories and Tribal Nations. This project is supported by the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation.”
Cycle 7 has a deadline of February 17, 2023 at 5:00 PM EST, for up to three months’ essential expenses.
“What Can We Do? (WCWD?) is a micro grant program that supports AAPI artists and their community care projects in New York City. It was created in response to the sharp increase in anti-Asian hate and violence during the pandemic which caused many people to experience grief, anxiety, and fear. WCWD? empowers artists and gives them a chance to find their place in the ecosystem of care through their talents and community connections.
This program is presented by the Asian American Arts Alliance (A4) and is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.”
Deadline: February 20, 2023
“Designed for cultural organizations, artists, and the general public, the Map is a vital resource identifying art and technology projects and activity throughout New York State supported by NYSCA Electronic Media & Film and its regrant partnership with Wave Farm: the Media Arts Assistance Fund.”

“The Literature Fellowships program awards grants in prose (fiction and creative nonfiction) and poetry to published creative writers that enable the recipients to set aside time for writing, research, travel, and general career advancement. Grants to individuals are only available in Literature.”

“New York City’s Open Streets program transforms streets into public space open to all. These transformations allow for a range of activities that promote economic development, support schools, and provide new ways for New Yorkers to enjoy cultural programming and build community.”
If your Open Street will launch on or before June 30th, 2023, you must apply by January 31st, 2023.
If your Open Street will launch on or after July 1st, 2023, you must apply by April 14th, 2023. This deadline is also for any school applying for the 2023-2024 academic year.
“All not-for-profit community-based organizations that wish to apply for discretionary funding for FY2024 must submit a Council Application.”
Submission deadline will be on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
