This recipe is perfect for a day spent at home, pottering around while lamb cooks to utter perfection in the oven. The lamb shoulder is well-seasoned and then slow cooked in all of those traditional puttanesca ingredients - tomato puree, olives, red onion and herbs. This is truly the epitome of comfort eating, with lamb that quite literally falls off the bone and mashed potatoes so creamy you will dream about them (maybe that’s just me!).
I highly recommend cooking this up to give Winter the send-off it deserves, before slow cooked meals are replaced for the fast, fresh and crunchy.
