A Whole New World?—The Future Takes Shape

We’re living in very unique times right now.

This astrology is so rare! I think you’ve been feeling the effects of it even if you haven’t realised why.

I posted this note on Substack and it seems many of you have been resonating:

If you recall, I mentioned in my article a couple of weeks ago that there is going to be a big astrological event happening this month—one that has been recorded and tracked since 1955, and now you are about to live it:

That time has arrived!

I’m going to talk about this cosmic configuration in a minute but look at these transits…

• Uranus sextiles Neptune (15th July, 9:35pm BST)

• Uranus trines Pluto (18th July, 5:43am BST)

• Jupiter trines Neptune (20th July, 8:23am BST)

• Jupiter opposes Pluto (20th July, 3:44pm BST)

• Jupiter sextiles Uranus (21st July, 12:10pm BST)

• Neptune sextiles Pluto (25th July, 6:26am BST)

…these are wild times indeed lol.

And they’re wild times because we’re talking about the outer planets. We’re used to seeing so much activity with inner planets like Sun, Moon, Mercury, etc. But it’s rare that we have this much chaotic activity with outer planets in such a small period of time.

On top of that—remember what I said about Mercury retrograde: first comes confusion, then comes the clarity.

If you haven’t received information that’s been enlightening to you in some way, I’d be surprised. By the way, clarity doesn’t necessarily mean ‘good’. As I always say, nothing in astrology is inherently ‘good’ or ‘bad’, it just is. I’m going to give you an example later.

First let’s review the planets in question:

• Uranus = planet of shock and surprise. Sudden events, breakthroughs, electric, spark (think spark of connection or spark of ideas), disruption.

• Pluto = underworld, power, taboo subjects, secrets, depths, sexual health, sex, shadow work, abuse, hidden knowledge, destruction, transformation, rebirth, ego death.

• Jupiter = worldly, higher knowledge, travel, religion, culture, abundance (again, not good or bad—just ‘more’).

• Neptune = imagination, creativity, belief system, haze, fogginess, confusion, deception, unknown.

I told you by the end of July things will look differently—both collectively and personally. I really can’t emphasise how BIG and profound this moment of time is that we’re experiencing!

Jupiter is going to be one of the key players in showing us how this configuration unfolds. The aspect I'm eyeing up most closely is its opposition to Pluto. With Jupiter in Leo opposing Pluto in Aquarius, this feels like a conversation about power: who holds it, who challenges it, and how existing systems begin to shift under pressure.

Change of power or a power struggle. Collectively speaking, in the States I see this as power struggle, extreme views on display/being acted upon, climate change karma, wealth gaps widening.

In the UK, it’s interesting that in the lead up to this configuration, there’s a change of leadership—Andy Burnham officially becomes the new Prime Minister on Monday…right in time for that Jupiter-Pluto opposition. If you’ve been following the news, there’s been a lot of talk about hope, and doing things differently—of course a lot of people are skeptical whether he can keep these promises—but if it feels different, that’s because it is, given the transits.

Pluto is often associated with institutions, governments, economic systems and the redistribution of power. It's no coincidence that discussions around reindustrialisation, economic reform, wealth inequality and the future of labour are loud in this moment of time. They force us to examine not only who benefits from existing systems, but who pays the price for maintaining them. Even conversations about reindustrialisation in the UK with this change of leadership, and how that even works given the exploitation of labour in ‘third-world countries’—very Plutonian.

Another story that caught my attention was the UK government's proposal to reform marriage laws in England and Wales. Under the proposed changes, couples could legally marry in a much wider range of locations, whilst the list of authorised officiants would expand to include humanist celebrants. Up to this point, you could only get a legal marriage in approved places. Jupiter represents marriage and Pluto represents power/institutions/transformation. Marriage isn't just ‘romantic’—it carries legal, financial and societal consequences, from taxation and inheritance to shared assets, and parental rights—these are all Pluto related. So I thought that was an interesting tidbit. And like I said before, it’s never only ‘good’ or ‘bad’—actually this example could be seen from both perspectives. Great for those that don’t want to be restricted to certain approved venues and want more accessibility. At the same time, it raises legitimate questions about safeguarding and regulation.

And of course with these transits—in particular Pluto in Aquarius, we can’t forget the A.I of it all—I’ve been talking about this since last year. We’re going to see a lot more development in this area but also a lot more conflict: humans vs A.I. control vs freedom, privacy issues, A.I resources and the impact on the environment. More on that in a minute.

But overall, that is why I think the current interpretation of this cosmic configuration has become a little too romanticised/overly optimistic. Yes, it contains extraordinary potential. But potential is neutral. It can be used to liberate, invent and rebuild, or to consolidate power and deepen existing inequalities.

On an individual level, this is going to play out differently for everyone. This configuration hasn’t happened before, so while people online are saying things like ‘this is going to be great for [insert sign here]’—that’s not exactly the right approach. You’ll have to apply this to your chart and see which areas this is highlighting for you. Some people are having the time of their life on this rollercoaster, some are exhausted and overwhelmed by it.

I’ll give you an example—I have a personal planet that’s going to be directly involved by degree in this configuration, so this (and the backdrop of the other transits) has been highlighting my health issues. A couple of days ago I was told by a doctor that I have endometriosis and that he doesn’t know how long I’ve had this for but its “extensive”. I didn’t have this appointment to explore the possibility of endo but he found it and confirmed it. That was an unwelcome shock—’another health problem I have to deal with’, I cried to Mum. But now that I’ve gotten over the surprise of it, I can also see the positive, which is: clarity. Knowledge is power (Jupiter-Pluto). And this diagnosis explains sooo much.

I’m also starting to see how this configuration is going to play a role in setting up the next chapter of my life (that is, alongside the upcoming nodal shift). My career is about to change again and there’s multiple reasons for this besides this configuration: mercury retrograde, nodal shift, Jupiter-Pluto opposition. I’ll give you more details in a future article, but I think by the end of October-November there’ll be a change in job. At this point I don’t have anything secured—let’s see how it goes!

I wanted to make this a separate section because the technological symbolism of this configuration is difficult to ignore. Uranus in Gemini points towards rapid developments in communication, information, transport, media and the way ideas connect people. Pluto in Aquarius intensifies themes involving technology, networks, collective systems and the concentration of power within them. Together, this means innovations already in development could begin moving into wider public use at a much faster pace.

A.I. is the most obvious example, but it’s unlikely to be the only one. We may see major developments involving robotics, drones, surveillance, digital identity, data collection, communication platforms and the infrastructure required to support them. Some of these advances could be genuinely life-changing. They may transform healthcare, education, creative work and access to information. At the same time, they raise serious questions about ownership, privacy, labour, resources and who benefits most from this new era. And that’s where Pluto comes in. Pluto exposes what sits underneath a system: who controls it, who profits from it, and what is being hidden from public view. Uranus may bring the breakthrough, but Pluto asks who really holds the power…?

Technological progress does not affect everyone equally. A new system may create freedom for one group while making others more vulnerable. It may produce enormous wealth while removing jobs, consuming natural resources or increasing dependence on a small number of corporations. The internet connected the world, but it also created new forms of misinformation, surveillance and social control. A.I. may follow a similar pattern: huge possibility existing alongside risks we are only beginning to understand. Outer planets have much longer transit periods in the signs they occupy than inner planets. We are only at the beginning of real change.

This is why I do not think this configuration represents a magical reset overnight like some of the internet wants you to believe. BUT it does represent an opening of change. A window in which old systems can be dismantled and new systems and ideas can be built. But the quality of what emerges will depend on who is shaping it, what values guide it and whether ‘ordinary’ people are allowed to participate in the conversation. I’ve been saying this since last year: Pluto in Aquarius = power to the people.

One of the biggest misunderstandings surrounding this configuration is the assumption that harmonious aspects automatically produce harmonious events. In astrology, trines and sextiles describe movement, cooperation and the ease with which energy can travel. But they don’t necessarily tell us whether the outcome will be ‘good’. Something can accelerate smoothly and still be deeply destabilising. A political system can become more efficient at controlling information. A new technology can spread rapidly before society has decided how it should be regulated etc.

That was a pretty long intro lol. But finally, let's get into what this configuration is, why it's become such a talking point, and the context that's often missing from the conversation. We'll also dive deeper into the Jupiter-Pluto opposition, how it relates back to the Covid era and the lockdowns of 2020, as well as the role Neptune is playing in all of this.

I know I said earlier that you can’t approach this with a ‘this will be great for [insert sign here]’ mentality—but we can point out some groups who will be feeling this heavily: prominent air and fire signs, prominent Leo placements—especially the Pluto in Leo generation, those with 4° placements (particularly fixed, or if you have 3-5°)—I’ll give you an example: let’s say you have 4° Taurus Moon = activated within this configuration via T-square to the opposition.

All this to say, it’s about to get crazy and chaotic, and while it may not feel great in the moment, it’s likely necessary for your long-term growth—because with outer planets, it’s always about the long-term play.
