What if birth began long before labor?
In this episode, I sit down with Pauline Goossen, whose story reminds us that conception, pregnancy, and birth are all part of one sacred journey. Pauline and her partner approached conceiving their baby with intention, ritual, and care, preparing not only their bodies but their relationship and their hearts.
As her pregnancy unfolded, Pauline began to see birth through a new lens. Then, just before labor, she learned her baby was breech. What happened next was nothing short of remarkable. After hours of intense contractions, she found her way to the bathroom, asked for privacy, lit a candle, and surrendered. In that quiet space, everything shifted. With breath, focus, and a deep connection to pleasure and trust, her body opened from zero to four centimeters.
From there, Pauline entered a powerful birth trance, supported by her husband, her doula, and her midwives. She birthed her breech baby on hands and knees, then honored the moment with placenta rituals, delayed cord clamping, and deep gratitude for the team that held her through it all.
