Our second OrbitDB Discussion and Showcase livestream went live this month.
We discussed the benefits of a local-first approach to data storage and also identified a number of social media platforms which could be rewritten using p2p technology such as OrbitDB, Helia and Libp2p.
A third is scheduled for mid-September.
Inspiraluna hosted our first ever workshop. We delved into what building a p2p webapp looks like and the benefits as well as the drawbacks of a p2p approach. Inspiraluna also showed us how to build a simple data-driven webapp which uses OrbitDB for storage. Finally, we were introduced to peer-to-peer replication, with a successful synchronization of data across browser instances.
