For a group of so-called “alpha males” whose performative masculinity is so toxic it’s killing American women, children, and democracy itself, Republicans sure are a bunch of spineless pussies when the chips are down, and they need to man up for real.

One of the fundamental jobs of a father is to protect their children from violence. This does not end when they are adults. If your child is in a situation of domestic abuse, you get them out. If your grandchild is being abused by a monster (even if said monster is your own child), you do something about it. Especially if you strut around all day thumping your chest like a caveman about how manly you and your entire political movement are.

But Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Coward) just sat back, watched his daughter and granddaughter be viciously assaulted, and did…nothing. His colleagues are sitting back and looking away, too. Depraved fucking losers. All of them. The key word in “performative masculinity” is “performative.” It’s all an act, and it always has been.
