This year was all about scale, distribution, and proving that cover works when it matters.
We have seen increasing trust among users, protocols, and institutions that rely on cover as an indispensable part of their onchain journey.
2025 by the numbers:

One of the most important steps this year was the launch of the OpenCover API.
The API enables wallets, protocols, funds and dapps to integrate coverage directly into their user experience, removing friction and making protection native rather than optional.
Arcadia, Beefy, vfat, and others trusted OpenCover to power built-in onchain protection. This shift toward embedded cover expands reach, improves UX, and unlocks new distribution models across DeFi.
❄ February: We introduced Multi Protocol Cover, enabling protection across primary and sub-protocols.
🪻March: We teamed up with Coinbase One to offer membership for discounted cover (including the Base Pass!)
🌺 April: We upgraded the Base Pass, with coverage now extending to 16 protocols.
🏝️ July: We launched OpenCover Credits to reward our users for staying safe onchain.
🚌 September: We launched OpenYield to help users navigate covered DeFi opportunities.
🍁 October: We hosted Scaling Institutional DeFi: Inner Circle at Lloyd’s in London, during DAS.
In 2025, OpenCover paid out over $345,000 in claims and supported users through critical incidents.
We reimbursed users impacted by the:
🚨 July 2025 Arcadia Finance exploit on Base
🚨 August 2025 Stream Finance fallout which caused second-order losses for users of Beefy, Euler, and Harvest Finance
Users consistently highlighted a direct, transparent claims process with support throughout.
In 2026, our focus remains clear:
