Induction of three Newly Sworn-in Members of Cabinet

Following the swearing-in of three (3) Members of Cabinet on Tuesday, 11^th August 2026 at State House, Entebbe, the Cabinet Secretariat successfully conducted an induction programme for the newly sworn-in Members on Thursday, 13^th August 2026 in the Cabinet Library, 6^th Floor, Office of the President.

The induction was aimed at familiarizing the Members with Cabinet processes and strengthening their understanding of their roles and responsibilities in the effective conduct of Government business.

The key objectives of the induction were to:

• Enable Members of Cabinet to appreciate Cabinet decision-making processes and the principle of collective responsibility;
• Equip Members with knowledge and skills in strategic leadership, policy development, planning, budgeting, performance management, legislative processes, communication, crisis management, and international diplomacy;
• Emphasise the importance of ethical leadership, good governance, accountability, and integrity in policy formulation and implementation;
• Promote a Whole-of-Government Approach (WoGA) to policy formulation, implementation, and service delivery;
• Enhance Members' understanding of mechanisms for the supervision, monitoring, and evaluation of Government programmes and the implementation of Cabinet decisions; and
• Facilitate the smooth transition of newly appointed Members of Cabinet while promoting continuity, institutional memory, and sustainable governance.

The induction forms part of the Cabinet Secretariat's efforts to strengthen the capacity of Cabinet to effectively discharge its constitutional mandate and support coordinated implementation of Government policies and programmes.
