What do feminist leaders need to build a just future?
Towards our mission of catalysing people power, we find that nurturing the leadership capacities of our communities is multi-faceted, collaborative, and culturally situated work. Both budding and seasoned feminist leaders across the world need avenues for individual and collective learning and growth to explore and practice their leadership, and supportive communities in which to celebrate and exchange ideas, experiences, and even failures. All this, while we continue to challenge oppressive systems and embed justice into our institutions so that the practice of shared feminist leadership is possible, making it both the means and the end. Over the first half of 2025, our efforts have continued enthusiastically through research, programmatic action, leadership building, and community facilitation. I can’t wait to bring you up to speed and have you join in! Welcome to the June 2025 edition of One Future Post.
P.S. This volume contains exciting news about the One Future Fellowship! 🌻
Love,
Vandita Morarka
Founder and CEO, One Future Collective
Over the past few months, our offices at One Future Collective have been abuzz with leadership-focused action across verticals.
But first, we promised a One Future Fellowship announcement, and we shall deliver! Applications for the 9th cohort of the One Future Fellowship are NOW OPEN! The One Future Fellowship is South Asia’s first-of-its-kind feminist and social justice leadership program, made for women, queer, and trans folks who are reimagining justice and building power from the ground up. This unique program centres feminist leadership not only in its objective but also in its practice - prioritising coaching rooted in care, learning that challenges systems, a supportive community, and an emphasis on real impact. If you know a budding feminist leader, be sure to send this newsletter their way - this could be the start of their story! Know more about the program and apply today! Applications open until July 15.

When we talk about building leadership, is it solely in the context of leading teams or communities? No! Leadership is also a deeply enabling personal process, which allows one to access and practice agency. We have successfully completed our Survivor Liberation Program, 2024-2025. The program supported nearly 100 women, queer, and trans survivors of gender-based violence through a psychosocial well-being program integrated with partner-led livelihood initiatives. It was co-created with partners CORO India, Each One Feed One, Shakti Shalini, Naz Foundation, and Bengal Transmen Collective. To learn more about this project, follow us on Instagram and LinkedIn as the team reports the journey over the next weeks!
Next, we are proud to present ‘The Intergenerational Triangle: A Guide to Shared Leadership’, a tool on Intergenerational Leadership (IGL) co-authored by One Future Collective and the World YWCA. In cultures and organisational sectors where strict hierarchies exist and your age (among other factors) often dictates if and how you hold power, the practice of sharing leadership among people from different generational units can be complex. Some questions that the tool answers for those driven to build better futures with IGL are:
What does IGL mean? What are its guiding principles, and why do we need it?
What are the building blocks of IGL?
How can I figure out where I am on my journey to IGL? What guidance do I need to advance?
Curious about your team’s potential for shared leadership? Explore the tool and share your feedback with us at info@onefuturecollective.org
Speaking of sharing resources, the Feminist Leadership Hub, developed with FAIR SHARE of Women Leaders, is now 600+ members strong and soon to host its first 2-day virtual convening in September 2025! In the interim, we are hosting monthly check-ins (think questions like ‘what does courage look like in feminist leadership?’) and conversation series like ‘No Right Answers’, hosted by Vandita Morarka.
Phew! Between concluding some projects and initiating others, it’s been a busy few months at One Future Collective. We are excited to continue putting our learnings into action and see where we go!
You can’t build a future without your communities!
In the month of June, we’re hosting two events to help our alumni community reconnect and engage joyfully. Join us virtually for a Healing Space, a meaningful online reflective gathering centred on community care, or come hang out at an OFC Huddle in your city, hosted across Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai. We can’t wait to meet you! To get in touch, reach out to community@onefuturecollective.org.
What does the leadership practice mean for times when fascist regimes, war and genocide loom large and community-led action to preserve and promote human rights is more crucial than ever?
Check out these resources and more!
