Do you want to help OI support local candidates and causes in the upcoming elections? Join OI EAT for a team picnic on Wednesday, July 8th, 5pm! The Election Action Team (EAT) has two major purposes for 2026:

• help OI-endorsed candidates in key, winnable, competitive races for municipal, county, state legislature, and state executive offices win their races.

• help a select group of national candidates in key swing states through activities such as phone banking, texting, and postcards.

We’ll meet to discuss opportunities to work together and support OI-endorsed candidates and ballot initiatives. If you want to join the team, but can’t attend the picnic you can sign up to join the team using this Google Form.

What: Outdoor face-to-face meeting

When: Wednesday, July 8, starting at 5pm; we have the shelter for the evening

Where: Squaxin Park Shelter #4, 2600 East Bay Drive NE, Olympia, WA 98506 (good parking and restrooms nearby, wheelchair accessible with assistance)

Why: Open, casual discussion about team objectives, plans, working with the campaigns etc. Bring your questions, drinks and snacks, potluck style. Shelter 4 has good parking close by and restrooms; it is the easiest one for wheelchairs. If you know someone who hasn’t signed up for the team but wants to help, bring them along.

From the OI Immigrant Justice Team

Thanks to those who have so generously donated food and essential hygiene products during our past Olympia Indivisible Immigrant Family Food Drives. We are reaching out to you again to help us stock the nonprofit immigrant pantry. The pantry is just about bare and needs your support. The federal government has made many Spanish-speaking families afraid to go shopping for essentials.

Action: July 5-17, donate non-perishable foods or other essential items. We have a drop-off location in NE Olympia; please contact reeniemc252@gmail.com for the address.

Please use this list of the most-requested items needed. The item sizes help us to fit more of everything on the shelves for easier distribution. Thank you for your help!

This week: We’ll be at Golden Hour Soda, Kava and Tea, a welcoming all-ages sober bar in downtown Olympia. Located at 502 4th Ave E in Olympia, Golden Hour specializes in alcohol-free botanical drinks made entirely in house, including 8 micro-brewed sodas on tap, a carefully curated loose leaf tea selection, kava, and more.

• What to expect: Low-pressure discussion, a welcoming environment, and a chance to talk about the issues you care about.

• Who it’s for: Whether you’re a seasoned Olympia Indivisible activist or just curious about what we do, you are welcome here.

OI members have spoken — our local candidate endorsements are in, and July is all about getting them elected. If you missed the June 27 “Be a Vote Multiplier” event, don’t worry — there’s still plenty of time to make a difference, and we need you.

This July, we have three Saturday mornings focused on exactly that. We’ll explore the wide variety of ways you can support our endorsed candidates, including the exciting possibility of flipping LD2 and LD35 from red to blue. There is something for everyone — no matter your schedule, skills, or experience. We’re also hoping to welcome some of the candidates themselves to share their campaigns and goals directly with you.

Join us on July 11, 18, and 25 — just ahead of the August 4 primary.

MAGA mega-donor Brian Heywood is bankrolling two poorly written initiatives to remove common sense protections for child abuse victims and LGBTQ+ youth: IL26-001, which would restricts student access to help for depression, sexual assault, domestic violence, bullying, and other challenges; and IL26-638, which would subject girls in sports to invasive, medically unnecessary, and potentially harmful genital exams to verify their sex.

No Hate in WA State is staging phone banks on Sunday July 5 4-6pm and Wednesday July 8, 5-7pm, and staging a No Hate! Music and Contra Dance Festival at the Friends Meeting House in Olympia Saturday, July 11, 11:30am - 10pm.

Thurston County Auditor Mary Hall will be doing an informal town hall — a special opportunity for Olympia Indivisible members to hear from the person responsible for overseeing our local elections, and to ask the questions that matter most to you. Whether you’re curious about ballot security, voter registration, or how the counting process works, this is the conversation you don’t want to miss!

Join with Indivisibles across the country to learn about what Indivisible National is doing to help secure a big win for William Lawrence and Donavan McKinney in Michigan’s Primary on August 4th.

Things will kick things off with an overview of the stakes of this primary and why Indivisible National is proud to endorse William Lawrence in Michigan’s 7th House District and Donavan McKinney in Michigan’s 13th House District.
