Have Sprinter, will travel

While we have gone near and far, very far by plane with our three kids, friends, couples and sometimes just the two of us, we are turning over a new page and hitting the road with just four wheels, sometimes our dogs and just the two of us.

We will be free birds (prefer that over empty nest) this fall and in anticipation bought a Sprinter Van to see our country, visit our children in the rockies, midwest and east coast and just be in the great outdoors.

The good news is that I am a minimalist, I never check luggage, the other good news is that my husband, Philip is very much up for anything and is a good problem solver + he reads maps well and finds the road less traveled.

We made a goal to use the van we affectionally call, Rambler 1x/month before we truly hit the road this fall- more on that later. This week we only had a night so we picked up our favorite Rocky Mountain Tacos in Minturn and good bottle or Róse. I brought a book I can’t put down, Philip brought Vanity Fair - we always have Rummikub (if only he played Mahjong) and our AM drinks of choice… coffee for Philip and cacao for yours truly and we really had a peaceful, restful and starry night.
