Hiring a pro (and learning the hard way)

First off, thanks.

There was way more than I expected for the digital PR service (I knew it was too cheap).

My systems and staff are getting a full stress test.

The offer’s closed now, except for the couple I already spoke with.

On the personal side:

Finally got Starlink set up at the villa, 400mb in Bali isn’t bad.
And for those who followed the buildout, the villa’s “done”… kind of.

Still missing the small stuff, rugs, wall decor, the bits I figured I’d be good at.
Spoiler: I’m not.

I finally hired a professional to finish it and make it actually rentable.

Be here until CMSEO, then renting it out.

Rain today:

But it got me thinking...

Every time I think “I’ll just figure this out myself”, it costs me more.

Time, money, momentum.

Whether it’s building links, or making the villa rentable…

Hiring a pro was the difference between 'done' and 'done properly'.

And in that same spirit...

I’ve decided to let go of a project I’ve held onto for too long.

It’s a VR/tech-focused content site I bought back in October 2022, paid $42k for it.
At the time, it was making around $800 and got it to $1.5k–$2k/month.

Haven’t touched it in years, so it's dipped to ~$200/month.

If I had the time to focus on it, especially with the new Meta Glasses and where VR is heading, I’d probably double down.

But right now, I’d rather kit out the podcast room and clear some headspace.

So I’m letting it go for $5k or best offer.

If you’ve got the time to bring a high-upside fixer-upper back to life, this could be the one. Find it here. (Happy to do a direct deal to save fees.)

Cheers,
James
