The Truth About Mamdani that Boomercons Can’t Seem to Understand

The mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, recently had his finance department publish a list of wealthy NYC property owners and addresses. This is Patronage 101. Implied is that his loose coalition of discontents will be able to loot, pillage, and plunder these largely-unoccupied properties. More shrewd low-lifes will likely engage in squatting. Due to the tendency toward squatters’ rights in NYC, it will be a nightmare to evict them once they have a fake rental agreement to wave around. The police are unable to intervene, as the war between “landchad” and “rentoid” is a civil matter. This is a blatant invitation to take from the rich and give to yourself.

While my sympathy for the ultra-wealthy is somewhat muted due to the “k-shaped economy” currently crushing the middle and working classes and the prolific looting operations the wealthy elite themselves engaged in during the ’08 crash and Covid, there will be decent people caught up in this affair. Remember, the Left’s definition of “wealthy” starts at “has nicer things than I do.”

The Boomer Right will likely view this as more proof that Islamo-Communism (as opposed to the Islamo-Fascism we were worried about from 2001–15) is rising in the U.S. Their conceptualization of Mamdani is that he’s a dedicated Marxist-Leninist and also a devout Wahhabi who also supports transgenderism and other leftist social causes: intersectionality made manifest in a shrimpy subcontinental from Uganda (following in the footsteps of Gandhi in benefiting from “colonialism” in the African continent while decrying colonialism abroad).

Mamdani, if he is capable of reading anything longer than 500 words, certainly hasn’t read Das Kapital. His professed beliefs on social policy would get him executed in any country with an Islamic government enforcing Sharia law. I’d speculate that he doesn’t really enjoy spending time around Dylan Mulvaney or similar characters. The man has no consistent ideology you could summarize, especially not some mystical unified theory of progressivism that smooths over the contradictions between Guevara’s “racism,” Stalin’s “homophobia,” Islam’s rigid patriarchism and professed attitudes toward homosexuality (yes, we know about Thursdays), feminism’s ball-busting misandry, and progressivism’s extreme antitheism (although it does tend to focus solely on orthodox Christianity).

Nonetheless, older conservatives have excitedly proclaimed that Mamdani is the face of both the Islamic conquest of the U.S. and also the Soviet conquest of the U.S. at the same time. In reality, he’s the only thing that could unite all of the disparate leftist causes: he’s a looter, and he wants all of the nice things. They can go back to infighting when every last nice thing has been requisitioned from the dirty, filthy, racist colonizers. If you’re curious what that looks like, turn your eyes toward Zimbabwe or South Africa.

People can’t seem to stop thinking that Mamdani worships Stalin and Mao as legends and Marx as their prophet. In reality, his probable pantheon more closely resembles Mugabe, Mandela, and their prophet Noel Ignatiev. Neither Mugabe nor Mandela read Ignatiev (it’s not entirely clear whether Mugabe could read), but they both managed to obey his commandment to “abolish whiteness” and seize the spoils. It’s this commandment that animates Mamdani and his supporters, not some lofty commitment to communism or Islam. He’s a scrawny Third-World pillager — nothing more, nothing less. It wouldn’t be remarkable if there weren’t so many scrawny Third-World pillagers in the U.S. ready to unite behind his banner (at least long enough to accomplish Ignatiev’s mission).

There is no “ideology” to disprove. There is no “owning the libs.” The Reaganite mantra of Mamdani and his followers’ ignorance being because “they know so much that isn’t so” is a farce. They know exactly how the system works, what they want, and how to get it. Accusations of “hypocrisy” and “inconsistency” don’t work on them because their only ideology is the ideology of resentment, and their only goal is conquest.
