My younger brother is graduating from college this weekend and I completely dropped the ball on getting him something. I don’t want to get him a tie or dress shoes because he still has a few months until corporate America kicks in. I’ll let one of the uncles do that. Here are all the things I thought of in the past 48 hours that he can use that he use while moving to New York City, euro-tripping through the Mediterranean and likely living in his last summer without having the responsibility of a job.
Like myself and most college grads, he is going on a dope, month-long Euro trip with his college friends. Lake Como, Positano, Capri, Nice, Antibes are all amazing places but it can be hard to fit in with the multi-millionaires/billionaires when you have maybe 5 figures left in your bank account. Dressing like you belong with these pieces will help “fake it ‘til you make it.”
It gets chilly at night on yachts and only to poors wouldn’t know that.
No need to bring a towel to beach club when you’re already wearing one. The beach club also has towels for you anyways.
Nothing says “wealth” like sunglasses that don’t actually block the sun.

I started writing this blog because my younger brother was asking for advice on jobs and moving to New York City and now that time is nearly here. Graduation is a crazy event. At the snap of the fingers you go from a kid to a border-line adult. Your parents stop claiming you as a dependent on their taxes. Its all a little insane but definitely worth celebrating.
