What benefits are younger workers looking for? I have 20-30ish year old family members with way more education than I ever had that short/long disability coverage, pet insurance, more paid time off than I had after 8 years of federal service and tuition reimbursement. They are also getting daycare assistance and have access to memberships for free grocery delivery. They can manage their family life far better that leads to confidence to achieve more on the job.

I was truly shocked when a 27 years with only 4 months on a job and diagnosed with cancer had the disability insurance to manage without needing family financial support. That young kid not only survived cancer they are thriving with the same smaller employer doing the job they love.
