A Quick Substack Notes Update: How I will use Notes going forward.

It is finally here, Substack launched Notes to everyone about an hour ago. For some writers this future will be a small addition that may not see much use, or add much value. For me and I assume a lot of others in the OSINT community though, Notes is a godsend that will allow me to provide a much more complete experience to my Substack subscribers.

Initially Substack was not meant to be an alternative to my Twitter feed, but merely a platform to complement it, where I would be able to share long-form content and research too detailed for a Twitter thread. Given the spiral that Twitter has been in for the past few months, exacerbated by the recent decision (now reversed luckily) to block Substack links, I now see Substack as a platform that can provide a lifeboat if/when Twitter goes under.

With the launch of Notes, I intend to post all the content that I would normally post on my Twitter feed on Substack as well. This will allow anyone who doesn’t use Twitter to follow all my work, not just my long-form content. Hopefully this also allows the community here on Substack to grow and provide everyone with an easier way to interact with me and others.

A large amount of stuff that happens in regards to OSINT may not warrant an entire article, or events happen and change rapidly. For this Notes is the perfect tool.

I hope that this can be the start of a new adventure together.
