The Oakdale Enrichment Society, OES, will be hosting its Community Closet event on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 9 am. to noon.

Area historian and genealogist Joy Loree (Wadsworth) Sweger will provide a presentation that brings history to life through storytelling, research and firsthand family connections.

Vern Gladney of Oakdale was among those who turned out for a Thursday, Aug. 13 blood drive.

The program is a collaborative effort of the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce and Oak Valley Hospital District.

Following an extended public hearing Aug. 17, the Oakdale City Council voted 5-0 to continue consideration of the proposed sidewalk maintenance ordinance until Sept. 21 while the city gathers additional information.

The clothing drive offered clothes for every member of the family and many families stopped by to fill up multiple bags with items for the warm weather as well as a few fall staples like coats and sweatshirts.

Officers proactively identified and apprehended offenders suspected of organized retail theft.

Both ‘Wild Child’ and ‘Good Vibration’ are two songs that reflect his love of the great outdoors as well as being a camp counselor at Camp Jack Hazard.
