The comics of Mara Ramirez
Mara Ramirez makes comics that utilize different styles and processes in order to ruminate on the body and its place in the world through metaphor, fantasy, and realism alike. They will discuss their 2025 release, Flea (Fieldmouse Press), upcoming works in progress, and their ethos in using comics as a mode of self-nurturance and graphic medicine for gender dysphoria.
Mara Ramirez is a member of the Bay Area based Freak Comics collective and the author of MOAB, Flea and other works.
