Nicholas V. K. · The Disobedient Vowels

There is a version of you that lives inside machines. It is made from clicks, pauses, scrolls, purchases, likes, and late-night searches. It knows which songs to suggest, which headlines will pull you closer, and which videos you will probably watch to the end. It is always busy. It is beneficial to other people.

It is not you.

This algorithmic self is a profile written by systems that want to predict and influence your behaviour. It flattens you into patterns and probabilities. It has no space for your doubts, your contradictions, or the small private thoughts you never turn into content. Complexity is expensive. Nuance does not convert.

In a world that keeps reflecting this simplified version of you at you all day, writing and photography can become more than hobbies. They can be ways home.
