Working on my conlang. No name yet, but it's quite exciting. Visiting old friends and making music with them. Chilling in the heat.
Pondering the nature of time and the impossibility to truly know the present.
Still playing the Sims 4, but hopefully growing bored of it. Starting to read The Dawn of Everything by David Graeber and David Wengrow. It's a mind-blowing book and I absolutely recommend it. Unexpectedly starting to work on my own conlang . More on this later. Finally updating pimeja with fully embedded SVG glyphs for offline use.
Doing pretty much nothing but playing the Sims 4.
Learning how to use a sickle and a scythe in my garden. Finally getting a real acid box, the TD-3-MO . Trying to setup the whole MIDI thing with my existing gear.
Actually thinking about making an actual (small) CRPG. Enjoying the power and simplicity of Feather Wiki .
Slowly refining long ambient tracks. Starting to play Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Getting globally annoyed with CRPGs.
Having fun with the uxn version of Orca . Experimenting with algorithmic composition, time-stretching and hour-long tracks.
Dusting off my Raspberry Pi, installed the terminal version of Orca , controlled the Rytm with it. Feeling lazy, making a new track out of nowhere using only FL Studio. Still playing Divinity Original Sin 2. Excellent game, though sometimes quite annoying.
Writing a few details about neurodiverging , my new album. Releasing it on Bandcamp.
Surprisingly managing to actually make an album. Having a hard time defining the genre, but that was the point. Making a cover art I'm happy with. Starting to play Divinity Original Sin 2 , which I kickstarted years ago.
Playing to Spiritfarer , a charming game about death. Trying to record a decent entry for Fedivision 2022. Collecting 4-minutes-long ambient tracks I'm not happy with. Deciding to give up and make a whole album with my own rules instead.
Experimenting with my Cosmos. It's simple, fun, and deeply immersive. Reading Redefining Conscience in an Era of Rapid Change by Vlad Kreimer, Soma's founder. Recording loads of RAV Vast sessions but feeling unsatisfied with the results.
Started to cut after many months of bulking. Completed my second Disco Elysium playthrough. I can't recommend it enough. Decided to get a Cosmos for some ambient sessions.
Still on a RAV Vast and acid techno streak, and learning a lot. Replaying the masterpiece that is Disco Elysium after nearly three years. Looking into way of expanding my music production setup for more ambient and drone.
Getting some rest. Playing the RAV Vast every day, several times a day. Reading Avant nous le déluge ! by Jean-Loïc Le Quellec, an interesting book about the origin of myths. Slowly building an acid techno track my A4 + AR setup.
Feeling globally better and more inspired, I guess spring is here. Listening to acid again, especially Pye Corner Audio's EPs. Making acid techno with my A4 + AR setup.
Unexpectedly messing with live RAV Vast recordings and making dub techo tracks . Thinking about what to do with these tracks regarding my ale project. Starting to mess with cute and colorful voxels once again.
Having silly game concepts ideas I may start working on at some point. Still making slow progress on the ale project, but progress nonetheless. Watching Adam Curtis's Can't Get You Out of My Head
Greatly enjoying playing the RAV Vast regularly again. Having a lot of fun reading the Jesus and Mo webcomic. Headbanging on this classic Hallucinogen album I had forgotten about.
Resuming RAV Vast courses and taking notes. Doing once again some research on handpans , possibly to get one in the future. Reading about the Pre-Columbian era.
Finally managing to schedule my RAV Vast practice properly. Getting an actual notebook made with actual paper to write down steel tongue drum exercises and related stuff.
Still working on ale . Slowly. Feeling slighlty more distraught than usual by the state of the world. Simultaneously loving and hating Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Starting that Kiasmos cover project . Learning a lot and having fun. Developping a very simple music notation system to analyze tracks. Identifying notes and chords by looking at a spectrum visualization. Unexpectedly enjoying this sound dissection work.
Thinking about recreating Kiasmos' debut album . I can't get tired of this masterpiece. Being tricked into slavery by a shady raccoon in Animal Crossing. Cooking Brussel sprouts .
Not doing much, and not feeling like doing anything creative.
Resuming weight lifting after a two-week pause. I missed it badly! Discovering the magic of owning a small terrarium . Slowly building a minimal techno track. Very slowly.
Listening to the Belarusian synth-pop band Molchat Doma Disliking bodyweight workouts compared to weight lifting. Enhancing my sleep hygiene. Playing a lot of Conquest of Elysium 5. Learning how to build full songs on the A4 + AR setup.
Switching to from weight lifting to a light bodyweight routine. Looking into yoga for rest days. Still trying to sort the mess out of my various projects. Studying some Plastikman tracks. Possibly finding some kind of musical direction.
Crying while twisting knobs. Looking into Skyrim modding. Hurting my back while weight lifting.
Trying to plan my projects for next year. Likely lacking any sense of purpose or direction.
Struggling with the Analog Four , but learning a lot. Playing Night in the Woods 5 years after everyone. It's great. Binge reading William Gibson: Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrvie and Virtual light.
Not doing much except playing Skyrim 10 years after everyone. Having a hard time defining the musical aesthetics I want, but working on it. Thinking about how much music and sex have in common.
Finally updating this website a bit, with a few new entries in Notes and Works . Rewriting the plot of Phalanstery, my upcoming cyberpunk adventure game. Learning how to use the Analog Four . Looking into substractive synthesis tutorials.
Feeling overwhelmed by the incredible depth of the Analog Four . Thinking about the best way to let music and game development feed each other. Being late to update this journal. Feeling relieved but also missing the pace of #Novembeat .
