Dan F · Nova Protocol

Neptune Protocol will be launching on Eclipse Mainnet, offering a compelling service for users who hold assets on both Solana and Ethereum blockchains. Neptune does not enable direct interaction between the two networks, but instead provides benefits for those already engaged with both ecosystems.

Eclipse is a novel blockchain platform designed to enhance the capabilities of existing blockchain ecosystems. It's not a traditional layer-1 or layer-2 solution, but rather a specialized environment that can support applications catering to users from different blockchain communities, particularly Solana and Ethereum. Eclipse supports applications built using Solana's programming model, allowing for high throughput and low transaction costs. The platform also supports Ethereum-based applications, making it accessible to a wide range of developers and users familiar with the Ethereum ecosystem. Eclipse provides a unified environment where applications can potentially serve users from both Solana and Ethereum ecosystems, without requiring cross-chain bridges or complex integrations.

What to Expect from Neptune

At its core, Neptune Protocol offers a suite of DeFi services designed to maximize efficiency and user value:

  1. 0% Interest Loans: Users can borrow against their collateral without ongoing interest charges, paying only a one-time fee at loan initiation.

  2. Multi-Collateral Support: Neptune accepts a wide range of assets from both Solana and Ethereum ecosystems, including TIA, stTIA, wETH, stETH, SOL, JitoSOL, mSOL, stDYDX, and rETH. This diverse collateral pool allows users to leverage their preferred assets effectively.

  3. USDN Stablecoin: Our USD-pegged stablecoin, USDN, provides a stable medium of exchange and store of value within the Neptune ecosystem and beyond.

  4. Cross-chain Liquidity: By bridging Solana and Ethereum assets, Neptune opens up new avenues for liquidity provision and yield generation across both ecosystems.

These features combine to create a platform where Solana and Ethereum users can seamlessly interact, opening up new opportunities for arbitrage, yield farming, and portfolio diversification.

How to Use Neptune

Engaging with Neptune Protocol is straightforward:

  1. Opening a Vault: Users can create a vault by depositing supported collateral. This vault serves as the basis for borrowing USDN.

  2. Minting USDN: Once a vault is established, users can mint USDN against their collateral. The protocol ensures a minimum collateralization ratio to maintain system stability.

  3. Participating in the Stability Pool: Users can deposit USDN into the Stability Pool, earning rewards in both collateral assets and NPT tokens. This pool plays a crucial role in the liquidation process, helping maintain system health.

  4. Staking NPT: By staking NPT tokens, users earn a share of protocol rewards

  5. Cross-chain Interactions: Neptune's integration with both Solana and Ethereum allows users to leverage assets from both ecosystems, potentially capitalizing on cross-chain arbitrage opportunities and accessing a wider range of DeFi strategies.

Risk Management and Security

Neptune Protocol incorporates several mechanisms to ensure system stability and user security:

  1. Liquidation Process: If a vault's collateral ratio falls below the minimum threshold, it becomes eligible for liquidation. This process is facilitated by the Stability Pool, ensuring swift and efficient resolution of under-collateralized positions.

  2. Recovery Mode: In extreme market conditions, the protocol enters Recovery Mode, implementing stricter rules to maintain overall system health and protect user assets.

  3. Security Measures: Neptune has undergone thorough audits by reputable firms including Kudelski, Sec3 (formerly Soteria), and OtterSec. These audits, combined with our commitment to best practices in smart contract development, aim to provide a secure environment for users.

Tokenomics and Ecosystem

USDN: Our stablecoin is designed with multiple peg stability mechanisms, including a redemption process and a Peg Stability Module (PSM), which allows for direct swaps between USDN and USDC.

The integration of Solana and Ethereum assets within Neptune creates a unique tokenomic environment, potentially leading to increased liquidity depth and more efficient price discovery across both ecosystems.

Future Vision and Community

Neptune Protocol aims to become a cornerstone of cross-chain DeFi, fostering innovation and collaboration between the Solana and Ethereum communities. Our long-term vision includes expanding to additional blockchain ecosystems, further enhancing interoperability in the DeFi space.

We invite users from both Solana and Ethereum communities to join us on this journey. Engage with us on our social media channels, participate in our Discord community, and stay tuned for updates as we approach our launch on Eclipse Mainnet.
