Growth is something I've been thinking about a lot recently, especially in relation to my books and author career. So, here is a little vulnerability for the start of the new year:
I am terrified of being a bad writer to the point that I find it incredibly hard to share my drafts with people, and the less eyes on my work before I hit publish, the better I handle it all.
Except, that so often means my books are not everything they could be and I feel uncomfortable promoting them. They are not as good as I want them to be, not giving you, the reader, everything you want. So, this year I'm being brave and reaching out to you - someone who has signed up for this newsletter and maybe keeps up with what I'm writing and publishing - to ask if you have any interest in being a beta reader for me.
I'm going to be using a site called Ellipsus, and you'll have the ability to make comments, edit things (the master draft won't be changed, just that version), and participate in a chat which I'll also communicate in. I've not used this before, but it feels like the best/easiest way to collate feedback and interact, so I want to give it a go. Will you come along for the ride? I'm looking for 2-3 people, though if there are others who are interested, I *could* be swayed.
The first thing I have on offer is Saving Tamara, formerly Stalking Tamara (it's NOT dark, so I changed the name). This novella appeared in the very first Monsters in Love anthology, and I feel like it just needs... more. But I'm not sure what it needs more of, so here I am, cap in hand.
