Every day, dozens of people give up on their goals simply because they believe they aren’t capable of achieving them. At that very same moment, somewhere on the other side of the world, someone is already building the life you’ve been dreaming of - and they’re doing it successfully.
Many of us grow up believing we’re not supposed to celebrate our own success. The moment you reach a goal, you simply cross it off your to-do list and move on to the next one.
No emotion. No excitement. No celebration.
Just the next achievement. The next goal to chase.
Until one day, you stop. You burn out. And you ask yourself:
“Is this really what I wanted? Why am I not happy?”
Have you ever felt like you’re the one limiting your own dreams?
You think you want one thing, but deep down, you actually long for something entirely different - something pulling you in the opposite direction.

Let me tell you something:
Because that’s what keeps your curiosity alive. That’s what fuels your desire to chase the “impossible” dreams. That’s what brings you back to the innocence, wonder, and hope you had as a child.
Romanticize your life.
Today. Right here. Right now.
You don’t have to spend your life living according to someone else’s expectations.
You don’t have to keep squeezing yourself into a box.
You don’t always have to be the “wise” or “strong” person in the room while holding yourself back from making a mistake.
The truth is, if we never make mistakes, we’ll never learn how to truly live.
If we never take risks or go after what we want, we risk becoming prisoners of our comfort zone. And there’s no growth there.
But there comes a moment when you’re seventy years old, replaying every possible “What if?” in your mind.
Because of the opportunities you never took. Because you were afraid of what society would think.
What other people would say.
What your parents would think.
What your children might think.
How much longer are you going to live like that?
Isn’t it easier to dare to step outside the box? Isn’t it better to take one step forward even when the storm is at its worst?
Even if you end up soaked, at least you’ll know you tried.
You’ll know there won’t be another “What if?”
Allow yourself to become part of Alice in Wonderland, even if the Cheshire Cat turns out to be right in the end. Let the White Rabbit take your hand and lead you toward the greatest adventure of your life.
Even if that adventure is nothing more than the thought that keeps you alive. Even if it never happens.
The human mind is an incredibly powerful weapon - one that, unfortunately, most people forget how to use.
If you’re capable of imagining the worst - case scenario, then what’s stopping you from imagining the best one too?
Instead of always saying, “What if everything goes wrong?” start asking, “But what if this time it actually works?”
If I had ever stopped being delulu, I would never have started my Substack newsletter.
If I had stopped romanticizing my life, I’d probably still be just another statistic - a patient living with depression and PTSD.
I would never have traveled across Europe, because fear kept telling me that everything outside my “safe little box” was dangerous.
To hell with fear.
To hell with every moment your mind plays games with you.
To hell with anxiety. To hell with overthinking.
We live here.
We live now.
I allow myself to romanticize my life because I know it protects my mental health. I allow myself to step outside the box and discover that life can be beautiful - even if it all begins with a bouquet of sunflowers.
So buy that floral dress you’ve been dreaming about, and wear it while walking through the city.
Go outside when it’s raining and jump into puddles like you did when you were a child, even if people stare.
Walk into the nearest bookstore and buy the book you’ve been longing to read.
Book that flight and finally visit the places you’ve always dreamed of seeing.
Get in your car and take that little road trip you’ve been talking about for years.
See? So many dreams.
And somehow you’ve forgotten that all they ask of you is to dream them, to live them, and to remind yourself that there is no greater power than the one you choose to give yourself.
Being delulu isn’t an illness.
It isn’t stupidity.
Sometimes, without even realizing it, being delulu can be the very thing that saves you.
📌As always, these kinds of posts will remain free because I truly believe that mental health shouldn’t have a price tag.
