Kanak · Remote & Rooted

Hello,

If you’ve ever felt or said any of the things below, I have something for you.

“I want to travel but I don’t have people to go with and I’m scared to go alone.”

“I want to go solo but not entirely. Having some known faces around would be comforting.

“I have never travelled with work. How will I plan it all such that my work does not suffer?”

I was living in Ladakh for 2 months last year when the idea of taking a group to travel and work together started brewing in my head. Partly because I get a lot of messages from people who say that they’d like to travel with me. And partly because I want more people to experience this lifestyle of travelling with work.

I don’t want to convince people to become digital nomads. But I really want that more people build the freedom to work from anywhere in their lives. Especially those of you who are already working remotely or independently but haven’t explored travelling with work.

So, when I finally decided to give it a shot, I wanted to start hosting group work trips from Ladakh. Unfortunately, Ladakh went into a lockdown last year in October due to protests and I had to return.

So, these group work trips started from Bir. If you’ve been here for a while, you’d know that I hosted 2 work trips in Bir in the first half of this year. But, Ladakh was always on my mind.

Whenever someone asked “where would you do this next after Bir?”, even without having a plan or any logistics in place, I’d answer “I’m hoping Ladakh.” No other place was even an option in my mind.

And I’m so excited to share today that

Finally.

Before visiting Ladakh for the first time last year, I used to think it’s overrated. What’s the hype about? I’ve seen mountains, I’ve seen lakes, what could be so different about Ladakh?

But it proved me wrong the moment I set foot in Leh.

The mountains are nothing you’ve seen anywhere else. The people are the warmest I’ve met. And as much as it’s famous because of the movies, Pangong Lake is truly something you shouldn’t miss in this lifetime. One of the most mind-blowing places I’ve ever seen.

Ladakh lives up to its hype and more. Words are not enough to describe what it makes you feel. It’s otherworldly.

And it’s not a place to rush through in 5 days. It forces you to slow down.

On the first day, you can’t rush anywhere. The altitude won’t let you. You have to rest. Breathe. Drink water. Read. Talk. Simply exist. And I think that’s the perfect way to begin.

Dates: 12th September to 22nd September (10 nights/11 days)

Designed for: Freelancers, founders, creators and remote professionals who can work from anywhere.

Age Group: 22-40 years, no health conditions

Group size: 10 people

Style: Slow travel, shared experiences and a small curated group.

Balance: Work during the week, adventure on weekends, plenty of unstructured time in between.

Not included: Rushing.

When I take a work trip, the destination is not just somewhere I pass through. I slow down enough to feel like I’m building a temporary life there.

That’s what I aim for with this group work trip too. Enough time for you to experience what life in Ladakh is like.

We’ll have our workdays, where you can settle into a comfortable rhythm and get your work done.

And then, when the laptop closes, there’s a whole new place waiting outside.

We’ll explore Leh - the market, the palace, the monasteries built into the hillside that have been standing since the 11th century.

We’ll sit by Pangong Lake and watch the water change colour for hours.

We’ll spend a night in Hanle watching the Milky Way.

We’ll eat local food together.

We’ll have experiences planned around Ladakh that would be difficult to put together yourself.

And there’ll be plenty of unplanned time too.

For slow mornings. Long conversations. Group dinners. Spontaneous plans. These moments usually end up becoming your favourite memories from the trip.

Here’s what people from the last groups said:

“Nothing felt rushed, every experience was fully felt and lived just the way it should be. I loved the fact that I got to spend the day the way I wanted and to be with myself and soak in the nature (esp the evening we visited the river near Gunehar - and spent a beautiful evening by the rocks that was totally surreal for me) ❤️ That moment I knew - I want more of this!”

“I felt like I got space to be, to relax, to reflect. It gave me a great sense of freedom and confidence.”

The group is a big part of this too. There are only 10 of us, so we’ll actually have the chance to get to know each other and make some new friends.

That’s what I’ve seen happen on both my Bir trips.

19 people joined those trips.

No one knew each other before arriving. By the end, they were sharing meals, helping each other, cracking jokes, exploring together and making plans for when they’d meet again.

That’s the kind of group I’m hoping to create in Ladakh too.

And I’ve taken care of the pieces that make all of this possible:

  • Your accommodation

  • Places to work

  • The experiences

  • Local logistics

  • The rhythm of work and exploration

  • A small group of people who are here for the same reason

So you get to spend your energy being there.

  • Ladakh at 3500 metres is not for everyone. If you have heart or respiratory conditions, please avoid.

  • September is a great month to go: monsoon has pretty much cleared, weather is stable, crowds have thinned. But evenings get cold (5-10°C).

  • WiFi in Ladakh is decent in Leh town. It is not reliable everywhere. If your work requires 8 hours of video calls daily, this trip will be harder. If you have flexibility in how and when you work, you’ll be absolutely fine.

I’m telling you this because I’d rather you come prepared than get surprised.

I’ve created them intentionally because I want them to be much more than just travel.

This is NOT for you if:

  1. travel for you means sightseeing every day. We’ll not be ticking off checklists.

  2. your idea of winding down or travelling is drinking and being up late at night every day

  3. you expect someone to hand-hold you and tell you what to do every day

This is not a holiday.

This is a way for you to unlock the freedom to work from anywhere sustainably.

I share the learnings from doing it for 5+ years that you can take back and adopt in your lifestyle to make work trips a regular part of your life.

It’s not a one-time thing. It’s a lifestyle I’m inviting you into.

If you book during the first 7 days, I’m adding four things to your trip:

  1. Lifestyle Design Session: a 1:1 session with me where we map out how to build more work trips into your year, based on your income, work setup, and where you want to go.

  2. ₹5,000 Next Trip Credit: ₹5,000 towards your next Group Work Trip with me.

  3. The Bir Work Trip Guide: everything I’ve already figured out from hosting two work trips in Bir, so you can plan your next one without starting from scratch.

  4. Post-Trip Content Edit Session: a one-on-one session to turn your favourite trip memories into a great LinkedIn or Instagram post.

These are available for FREE only during the first seven days of the launch, i.e. if you book by 17th August 2026.

If you’re reading this and already imagining yourself there, the next step is simple.

We’ll have a short conversation before you confirm your place. I’ll answer your questions, understand what you’re looking for and make sure Ladakh is a good fit for you.

You'll find everything you need to know before you book that conversation by clicking on the button below.

Take me to Ladakh

Talk soon,
Kanak
