I spent the first few days preparing for travel, and the majority of the month away on the first Euro-trip I’ve taken since 2019 for my cousin’s wedding. My travel piece will be coming soon! Daughter From Hell - Gracie Abrams
I’ve been watching and waiting for this album to come out and thankfully it did not disappoint! I’ve seen mixed reactions so far, and I’m baffled because I think this might be some of Gracie’s best work. Current faves: The Knife, Mini Bar, Hit the Wall and Look at My Life.

Truly one of my favourite Aly and AJ songs and also perfect for travel. I listened to this several times this month between multiple flights, car trips and walks on the beach. Chefs kiss!
Moon Girl - Ha Vay
Idk what it is about summer, but I only ever remember this song exists when the weather get’s hot. Its just so feel good, sparkly and kind of witchy…I’m obsessed.
Loveland - Suki Waterhouse
Like Daughter from Hell, my other anticipated album of the summer did not disappoint. I love Loveland but have had Notting Hill on repeat (perfect for my trip where I visited Notting Hill…I think she knew).
Dive - Olivia Dean
Dive is one of my favourite Olivia Dean songs and I must have listened to it a million times this month. I’m going to see her live in August so I had to emotionally prepare.

My Lady Jane (2024)
I had been meaning to check out My Lady Jane since it came out in 2024. Truthfully, I never did because I was sad it only got one season (bring back 7 seasons with 22 episodes each!). I’m so happy I finally watched this though…what an absolute delight. The kid inside me who was absolutely obsessed with Ella Enchanted is so happy right now.
Dawson’s Creek (1998)
I’m still on my Dawson’s Creek summer watch and have never loved the show more. There is something so special about watching a heartwarming, nostalgic and grainy (!!!) teen drama in summertime. Can we make shows feel like this again??? Everything from the witty dialogue to the scenic shot’s of the creek and of course Joey and Pacey is just perfection.

Finding Emily (2026)
Like last month, my Letterboxd activity this month was abysmal. However, there were some standouts to mention including of course, Finding Emily. I was excited for this one and am happy to report it was VERY cute, fun and funny. In this film, Owen (Spike Fearn) is given the wrong number for his dream girl, Emily, and must team up with a psychology student — also named Emily — (Angourie Rice) to find her. Was it perfect? No. But I enjoyed myself immensely while watching and still highly recommend. So glad we as a society are starting to put the “com” back in romcoms.
Reading
One Golden Summer - Carly Fortune
One Golden Summer has been on my tbr list for awhile. I’m very glad I waited to read it in summer (a must). To be honest, I think it’s a bit overhyped...did I still enjoy? Yes. Let me tell you about it: Alice is a burnt-out photographer recovering from a bad breakup. When her grandmother breaks her hip, Alice takes her to a cottage in Barry’s Bay, Ontario for some much needed summer fun. There, she rediscovers her creative spark and maybe finds…true love?? Because of my travels, I didn’t end up going to my cousin’s cottage like I usually do in July. This book definitely filled the Canadian cottage country/lake shaped void in my heart, and for that I’m grateful!
Into the Blue - Emma Brodie
Whereas One Golden Summer felt a tad over-hyped to me, this novel DID NOT DISAPOINT! I finally feel like the unsatisfying experience that was reading Tom Lake has been rectified! Into the Blue is a decades-spanning love story following characters AJ and Noah as they deal with grief, fame and fate. I won’t say much else because I don’t want to spoil anything…this is truly the kind of story it’s best to go in blind. This may end up being a top 5 read for me this year. I wish I could open it for the first time again. If you love the WB, teen dramas, acting/theatre, sci-fi, Buffy/Firefly, romcoms, fanfic or any of the above, I guarantee you will LOVE this.

Again, like last month, I had no time to post on here and for that I’m sad. Remember when I said I was going to be more active in July? lol…well that didn’t happen. I did manage to post some things including a very niche passion project I loved writing. Check it out below!

Only one edit this month…but that’s better than nothing right? I will never tire of Gossip Girl content and I hope the same is true for my subscribers because that’s what my channel mainly consists of…
And that’s it! Considering I was sweating my ass off for most of my summer travels, it’s a miracle I was able to scrape this post together. There is SO much to come next month and I’m excited to keep sharing with you all. As always, I appreciate each and every one of you who engaged with anything I write.
