Cavan Monaghan TD doesn't believe a change of law is needed

A Cavan Monaghan TD says that he believes we don't need new laws, but Gardaí need to have resources.

Matt Carthy's comments come as Sinn Fein wants social media companies to be held accountable for glorifying illegal activities including driving the wrong way on motorways.

However, TikTok has refused to appear before the Oireachtas Media Committee to face questions after a car drove the wrong direction on the M9 last weekend.

Deputy Matt Carthy says it was shocking but legislation is not the way forward.
