You’re past the rush of starting, those first pages or sketches or recordings that felt like they were going somewhere. And now you’re somewhere in the middle, and the thing on the page doesn’t match the thing in your head.
That voice sounds the same every time. Regardless of the project, regardless of the medium, regardless of whether the project is actually good or not. The middle of a novel sounds like the middle of a screenplay sounds like the middle of a design project sounds like the middle of an album. Same doubts. Same urge to abandon.
