I’m so stoked to let you know about new music coming out on October 12. It’s a little EP I’ve been working on since the spring called The House at Nazareth.

I find so much invitation in contemplating Jesus’s 30 years of hiddenness in Nazareth. Jesus experienced ordinary life like all of us — had family, had work, had play, had lazy afternoons and early mornings, got tired and took naps… and all of this in an ordinary town like most of us are accustomed to.

If Jesus experienced ordinary life, that means that ordinary life is sacred — that it’s holy, twinged with the divine. The invitation for us, then, is to find God in all of it; to welcome His coming toward us in our actual life, as it is. As my favorite poet Mary Oliver writes, “the threshold is always near.”

This little EP is a celebration of my own ordinary life and an expression of my deep desire to see it all and to not miss it — to find God in every square inch: my marriage, my kiddos, my cup of coffee in the morning…

This is easily the most fun I’ve ever had making music, and I believe it’s my best work to date. Can’t wait for you to hear it!
