The Iran-US truce runs out in the next 24-48 hours (sources disagree on whether it lapses today or Monday), and the fourth vessel in a week has been hit near Hormuz - while the NYT-sourced revelation that the US Navy relocated its entire Gulf supply chain to Diego Garcia reframes the whole campaign. On the financial side, the AI-datacenter credit number finally has a size on it: $269bn issued YTD, ~12x the 2015-2024 annual average, and Alphabet's $99bn gain on stakes it never sold turns out to have moved the entire S&P's reported Q2 earnings growth by 12 percentage points.

Iran-US truce expiry, third ADNOC vessel, live launches into the strait — HIGH (5+ sources)

  • The UAE accuses Iran of a third ADNOC vessel attack in under a week, on Friday, and publicly demanded Tehran halt strikes and fully reopen Hormuz (DeItaone).

  • Ballistic and/or cruise missile launches reported from Hormozgan Province toward the strait (sentdefender); anti-ship cruise missiles reported inbound, heavy USAF activity, and no visible vessels transiting the US-backed corridor - likely AIS off (MenchOsint).

  • UKMTO verified a bulk carrier struck by an unknown projectile in the hull (MacroEdgeRes).

  • Expiry timing is contested: the truce expires "in about 24 hours" as of Saturday 15:21 UTC (DarioCpx), versus a reported expiry of Monday August 17 (The Iranian Letter) - which also reports Trump made an unannounced Camp David trip after 14+ hours of White House press silence.

US Navy's Gulf logistics network is gone - relocated 2,200 miles to Diego Garcia — MEDIUM (2 sources + corroborating flight data)

  • Iranian missiles and drones destroyed the Navy's main Bahrain logistics hub in the war's first days; supply now routes from Diego Garcia, ~3,500km from the Gulf of Oman, per NYT (HormuzReport).

  • Consequence: severe shortages of food and hygiene items aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, a crew 250+ days at sea with no liberty port. Trump's comment on that deployment: nine months is "not nearly long enough" (zerohedge).

  • Iran reportedly fired two ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia on March 20 - the backup hub is also ranged.

  • Gulf allies (Saudi, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain) have lost trust in Washington per WaPo; one Arab official: "Trump started this war, and we are paying the price for it." The Saudi-Turkey-Pakistan defense pact is read by a senior European official as a direct signal to the US (HormuzReport).

Diesel is the broken market, and nobody's macro model has it — HIGH (3 sources)

  • Diesel sits firmly in the $160-185/bbl range worldwide; most macro models track ICE Brent or WTI and are therefore useless here (BurggrabenH).

  • Italian pump diesel broke an all-time high at €2.185/L (~$9.57/gal); European diesel cargos now price above jet fuel per Reuters, US imports dropping, EU inventories near 2022 lows (DarioCpx).

  • Diesel for delivery 16 months out is also rising sharply (KarelMercx).

AI datacenter credit issuance hits $269bn YTD - 12x the prior decade's annual average — HIGH (3 sources)

  • AI/hyperscaler/datacenter issuance (IG + loans) is running at roughly 12x the annual average of the entire 2015-2024 period, and already 2x all of 2025 (zerohedge).

  • Nvidia reportedly in talks to put $3bn into SB Energy, part of a >$500bn compute-financing push with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield and Goldman (aleabitoreddit).

  • Still no audited S-1 behind either OpenAI or Anthropic's numbers (DarioCpx). The word "billion" appeared 136 times in a single AI newsletter (DarioCpx).

Ukraine hits Russia's only Soyuz-2 producer; Russians claim Novonikolaevka on the Pokrovsk axis — HIGH (3 sources)

  • Up to 480 Ukrainian drones struck the Savasleyka strategic airbase and the Samara Progress plant - Russia's sole Soyuz-2 rocket manufacturer - while 152 Russian drones (127 downed) hit Odesa's ports (MilitarySummary). Corroborated as a Flamingo cruise missile strike on a key Russian space facility (zerohedge).

  • Russian forces claim Novonikolaevka, opening axes toward Gruzskoye and Novogrigorovka and potentially the rear of Dobropillya and Druzhkivka (GeromanAT).

  • The strategic framing that landed hardest: Iran enjoys escalation dominance, so military escalation isn't an option - Washington must either give Tehran what it wants and reopen Hormuz, or settle into a long siege. The test of seriousness is whether Bessent's package focuses on resilience and shortfall management or just more clever sanctions (policytensor). LOW (1 source, but analytically the sharpest take on the feed).

  • The UAE reportedly agreed to unfreeze $10-20bn for Iran, with the first $3bn already transferred, in exchange for Tehran halting strikes on Emirati territory - per Reuters citing four sources. The UAE foreign ministry called the report "entirely false and unfounded" (DD_Geopolitics). MEDIUM - the denial is itself the datapoint.

  • Two US Navy P-8A Poseidons operating out of Djibouti over the Gulf of Oman, supporting the naval blockade (MenchOsint); two USAF tankers out of Bucharest launched to refuel bombers heading for the Persian Gulf (MenchOsint).

  • Iran is expanding an overland workaround: oil exports by rail, with a rapidly growing fleet of pressurized tank cars (IranObserver0).

  • Second-order effect nobody priced: Somali piracy is surging in the shadow of the blockade (zerohedge).

  • The shipowner capitulation has arrived - a shipping-side analyst publicly recanting his own call that owners would keep sending crews through (ekwufinance). LOW.

  • Qatar reportedly held three Iranian Su-24 pilots captive after they ejected safely in March, per an Iranian Armed Forces statement (MenchOsint). LOW.

  • IRGC claim on the war's endgame: the US flew F-15E raids toward Isfahan believing air defenses were degraded enough to skip stand-off munitions; Iranian air defenses came out of ambush posture, downed one, and forced a costly CSAR - after which Washington fell back on scarce Tomahawks for the final deep strikes (Pataramesh). LOW, single-source and self-serving, but specific.

  • Ansarallah struck militant positions in Al-Mokha this morning with missiles and drones, per Saudi media (MenchOsint).

  • Explosions reported in Marib following Ansarallah launches (MenchOsint).

  • Ground detail: intensified clashes on the Al-Barah and Hays axes with heavy casualties inflicted on National Resistance forces; two suicide drones on Al-Khokha; the Mokha junction and Heis-Mokha road under fire; tribal reinforcements from Al-Rahidah moving to the Karsh and Haifan fronts with heavy rockets, Rajum quadcopters and fiber-optic FPV drones; artillery duels on the northern Taiz front (A7_Mirza). MEDIUM.

  • The connective thread: US-backed governments in Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen are all simultaneously pushing to disarm Iran-allied resistance movements (MenchOsint).

  • The top 5 international oil majors (XOM, CVX, SHEL, TTE, BP) generated ~$70bn in free cash flow in Q2 2026 - a record, and a +600% QoQ jump. Combined net income +160% YoY to $47bn (KobeissiLetter).

  • Simultaneously, US energy sector ETFs saw -$4.0bn in outflows over the 65 trading days to Monday, the largest since mid-2025, reversing March's record +$12.5bn inflow. XLE is on track for its 5th consecutive monthly outflow (KobeissiLetter). Record cash generation, record capital flight. Pick one.

  • The supply illusion argument, via Amos Hochstein: the market is treating SPR barrels as if they were production, with the reserve already below 300m barrels and prices near 81 (Mark4XX). LOW.

  • Trump on gas at $4/gallon: "I'll never apologise, you have to live with it, I did the right thing" (GlobalNewsMontr).

  • Front-month spread hit a $370/ton premium on Friday, the widest one-month spread since the 2021 squeeze; cash-to-three-month reached $434/ton, also a post-2021 high, prompting the LME to tighten market controls (KobeissiLetter). LOW (single source, but the exchange action corroborates).

  • LME stockpiles down for 42 consecutive days - longest streak since 2014 - to 204,975 tons, with nearly half of what's left already scheduled for withdrawal, as metal is redirected to the US ahead of expected refined-copper tariffs.

  • Alphabet booked a $99.0bn gain on stakes it never sold last quarter. Only $278m of that was realized. That single line item moved the S&P 500's reported Q2 earnings growth from 25.9% to 37.9% per FactSet - and Alphabet alone accounted for 92% of the weekly dollar increase in S&P earnings after it reported (shanaka86).

  • The BEA discards all $99bn - not as scandal, as definition: corporate profits measure income from current production, excluding capital gains realized or otherwise. Q2 corporate profits from current production publish August 26.

  • The cash ledger is worse: Alphabet generated $39.1bn operating cash and spent $44.9bn on property and equipment. Negative free cash flow in the same quarter it reported $112.2bn of net income, with $122.8bn of assets not yet in service.

  • Same thread, on the "most expensive market ever" claim: market-cap-to-GDP reads 218% (Fed, Q1), ~234% (Wilshire, July) and 240.3% (GuruFocus, Aug 15); Shiller CAPE ~41.4 in July against ~44.2 at the dot-com peak. Corporate profit share has three defensible answers for the same quarter: 12.4%, 11.4%, or 9.6%.

  • Nvidia has added >10 percentage points to the S&P's +84% five-year total return - ~12% of the entire gain, more than double Apple's contribution. The top 5 stocks account for ~30% of it (KobeissiLetter).

  • Retail bought +$27bn of NVDA over the last year, more than any other Mag7 name, with purchases more than quadrupling since October 2025. Apple was the only Mag7 name retail net sold, at -$5bn (KobeissiLetter).

  • Supply chain is tightening across the board: DRAM gross margins projected to reach an unprecedented 95% by 2027 per UBS; TSMC's advanced packaging VP warning of both memory and ABF substrate tightness "over the next few years"; AMAT raising advanced packaging growth guidance to >70% for 2026 with customer discussions extending to 2030; some MLCC lead times at 36 weeks (aleabitoreddit). MEDIUM.

  • GPU spot prices moved $12.5K → $15.3K in a week (Mayhem4Markets).

  • Bitcoin miners are now power landlords: Riot's all-in cost to mine one BTC was $90,631 against $71,667 of production value, and it mined more anyway - then on August 10 leased 191MW of that same Texas campus to a frontier AI lab for 20 years, ~$9.1bn total (~$455m/yr), against total quarterly mining revenue of $113.7m. Bitdeer signed a $4.7bn AI colocation lease in Norway. VanEck estimates only ~a quarter of leased AI capacity across the miner cohort has actually been built, against ~$50bn of near-term funding needs (shanaka86). MEDIUM - the arithmetic is checkable, the conclusion is his.

  • Washington will reportedly force other countries to choose between the US and China in the AI race or lose access to US AI cooperation, per Reuters (Megatron_ron). Meanwhile Alibaba's Qwen became the world's No.1 open model by downloads at 3 billion globally (Polymarket). Those two facts do not sit comfortably together.

  • Harvard's endowment reportedly put a very large share of its portfolio into SpaceX (gannonbreslin) - flagged as a possible final liquidity event before the AI trade cracks (zeroXhope). LOW on both.

  • August 15 marked 55 years since the gold window shut - the anniversary was the day's most-repeated observation across the metals feed (Nostre_damus, pmbug).

  • Physical flow anomaly: the US exported ~36t more silver than was withdrawn from COMEX in June - implying bullion banks dipped back into shadow inventory to satisfy demand. Related puzzle: the LBMA claimed a 471t silver gain in June; if the US only sent ~24t, the balance came from somewhere unaccounted (pmbug). LOW but the most concrete physical-market datapoint on the feed.

  • Vault run rates as of Aug 15: PSLV has created 705K new units since Aug 3; COMEX silver withdrawals are running at 12.2% of August delivery requests, gold at 27.5% (pmbug).

  • Retail is returning: physical silver ETFs bought many millions of ounces last week, with speculators adding futures contracts representing millions more (KarelMercx).

  • Gold majors just posted their second-best results ever despite a rough quarter for the metal, while sector valuations were pounded to their lowest in at least a decade (goldseek).

  • Positioning divergence worth noting: a prominent gold-stock analyst is bearish gold and silver near-term and extremely bearish the S&P, arguing the miners won't move until a genuine fear trade forces capital out of stocks and bonds - and that the only chart that matters is the gold/S&P ratio (DonDurrett). Prices in that recap are his figures, not verified market data.

  • Countervailing technical read: gold's recent pullback was nearly identical to 1973's and modestly smaller than 2008's in both price and duration, putting this 2-3 years short of the comparable 1975 stage (TheDailyGold). MEDIUM as a framework.

  • Post-Maduro Venezuela wants its $4bn in gold back from England (zerohedge) - a live test of exactly the custody question that has driven central bank repatriation since 2022.

  • Russian forces made advances inside Kupiansk (WarHunter2222). Russia's defence minister inspected the Vostok Group, which claims 19 settlements taken during the summer campaign (MilitarySummary).

  • Russian KAB glide bombs destroyed another bridge over the Kazenyi Torets in Slovyansk - the third bridge struck there in recent weeks, this one a pedestrian crossing linking the southern and southeastern suburbs (AMK_Mapping_). Systematic isolation of a city, one span at a time.

  • Large-scale strike on Kropyvnytskyi with at least 9 Kh-59/69 cruise missiles and 2 Banderol jet-drones, likely targeting Kanatove Airbase (AMK_Mapping_).

  • Ukrainian intelligence reportedly claims 50,000 North Korean troops set to deploy near Bryansk and Belgorod (MilitarySummary). LOW - single relay of a claim, treat accordingly.

  • Corruption keeps surfacing on the Ukrainian side: NABU found drone purchases at 60-90% above market prices with predetermined tender winners, funds moved to shell company accounts including overseas (Nordexium); separately, allegations that ~65bn UAH passed through Ukrposhta during the war years without proper financial monitoring (GeromanAT). MEDIUM on the NABU item, LOW on the second.

  • Mobilization strain, both sides of the border: 75% of the 400 young Latvian men called up for the latest draft didn't show for the initial medical exam (BowesChay); Ukrainian draft evasion is now stratified enough that domestic coverage describes a two-tier society (Lord Bebo). LOW on both - partisan sources, but the Latvian number is specific enough to track.

  • The US savings rate collapsed to 2.6% as spending outpaces income (Hedgeye).

  • Consumer confidence six-month averages: Gen X ~78 (lowest in at least 5 years), Boomers ~80 (lowest since Sept 2021), Silent Generation ~81. Both of the first two read ~110 in October 2021 - a ~40% decline (KobeissiLetter).

  • Treasury bills now ~21% of marketable Treasury securities, near the highest since 2020 and well above the 10-15% of 2012-2019, trending toward ~25% by FY2027 (KobeissiLetter). Financing a long-duration deficit at the short end while the front of the curve is the volatile part.

  • The data itself is degrading: only ~1 in 4 businesses now agree to participate in JOLTS, versus 50-70% pre-pandemic, with the first closing response rate at ~30%, near a record low (KobeissiLetter).

  • Risk appetite counterpoint: ~900 new ETFs launched YTD, on pace for ~1,470 in 2026 against the 2025 record of ~1,050. Leveraged products are ~33% of new launches (vs. fewer than 50 in all of 2024), and over half of all 2026 launches use derivatives (KobeissiLetter).

  • Valuation arithmetic: the S&P trades at 28.6x trailing versus 21.7x forward, implying 32% net income growth over the next year - one of the largest jumps ever, at the same time the Fed is expected to start raising (KarelMercx). LOW.

  • JPMorgan warns the next global food crisis could erupt next year and "won't be short-lived" (zerohedge). Filed for the calendar.

  • Agent memory poisoning survives a full reset. An arXiv preprint published August 13 ran 13,125 tasks across 25 agent setups: all 21 self-improving setups wrote unsafe procedures into their own skill files, and 15 executed harmful behaviour in a brand-new session after the original attack, memory, workspace, cache and tool sessions were all destroyed. Three poisoned tasks lifted later-session attack success from 16.0% to 35.3%; full exposure hit 41.3%. A separate benchmark of 879 attacks across 71 skills reached 86.3% success. The paper's own governance wrapper cut mean fresh-session harm from 21.3% to 4.0% at a utility cost of 58.44 → 58.00 (shanaka86). LOW (preprint, synthetic tasks, single model backbone) but directly relevant to anyone running persistent-memory agents.

  • Acoustic ambush drones. Loitering drones that fly to a point on a supply route, land, power down to conserve battery and evade electronic detection, then use onboard acoustic sensors to listen for engine noise and launch a point-blank attack - effectively unjammable landmines with wings (shanaka86). LOW.

  • Rouble-backed A7A5 stablecoin turnover nears $140bn since launch, per the head of PSB (solari_the). LOW, but a sanctions-adjacent settlement rail worth tracking.

  • Russian multi-beam wafer etching claim: a startup says it can etch a chip wafer up to 3,000x faster, reducing a 10-30 day process to 5-7 minutes (stefan_demetz). LOW, unverified, extraordinary if true.

  • Trump and Witkoff families reportedly opening a Florida bank with undisclosed investors and outside FDIC rules (PiperK). LOW.

  • Druckenmiller disclosed a new position in $PURR (Hyperliquid) (Geiger_Capital). LOW.

  • Trump's DOJ will reportedly back ending the National Firearms Act (InsiderWire). LOW.

  • Korea: South Korea proposes talks to officially end the war with the North (BBCWorld), while Pyongyang calls upcoming US drills a "rehearsal for aggressive war" (zerohedge). MEDIUM.

  • CENTCOM posted a regional map without Palestine, deleted it, and re-uploaded a modified version (MenchOsint). LOW - but the edit history is the story.

  • Tesla short sellers have made $9bn this year (Barchart). LOW.

  • Hungary's PM is vlogging his own energy grid's meltdown (philippilk). LOW, and an odd genre.

  • Croatia's central-coast wildfires are the largest and most complex in the country's modern history, per the Omiš deputy mayor (Lord Bebo). LOW.

  • Hobby spending hit a record ~5% of US goods consumption, beating the pandemic peak, with sporting goods/hobby/instrument/book store sales +11.3% YoY in May (Hedgeye). A discretionary-spend signal in an economy with a 2.6% savings rate.

  • Babylon Bee satire feed - a full day of headline gags (example). Ignored: satire, no informational content.

  • Extended medical-conspiracy thread alleging a coordinated pharma/judiciary/pedophilia network behind one physician's license suspension (MakisMedicine). Ignored: unverifiable, self-referential, no checkable market or geopolitical datapoint.

  • "The Pilgrim Society is behind every attack on silver in the last 110 years" (WVerily). Ignored: unfalsifiable framework, zero flow data.

  • Human-interest and outrage video reposts - migrant beach fight clubs, dangerous overtaking crashes, firefighter ladder length (Lord Bebo). Ignored: engagement-optimized, no signal.

  • "Hundreds of French soldiers may have been killed in Ukraine, Russian media reports" (BRICSinfo). Ignored: single relay of an unnamed source with no specifics.

  • One-word replies and quote-dunks from otherwise useful geopolitics accounts (GeromanAT). Ignored: no content to extract.

  • $10,000 gold / $200 silver / $180 next year price calls (TheSphinxRocks, SilverGold_News). Ignored: round-number targets with no mechanism, timeline or falsification condition.

  • Chart-of-a-chart posts - SPX/silver and BTC/silver ratio screenshots with no accompanying thesis (potassium_phd). Ignored: ratio noise, not a position.

  • Grok-baiting ("Hey @grok, is this true?") across dozens of accounts. Ignored: engagement mechanics.

Hecla Mining ($HL) — MEDIUM confidence

  • Posted what the company itself calls excellent Q2 2026 exploration results across three separate properties simultaneously: new veins discovered at Midas, positive definition drilling at Greens Creek, and strong results at Keno Hill (MiningStocksHQ).

  • The thesis is reserve-growth economics rather than a price call: as the largest primary silver producer in North America, finding new ore at existing operations adds ounces with no new permitting and no new infrastructure - the cheapest available route to reserve growth.

  • Caveat: no grades, tonnages, or resource-update numbers were given, so this is a directional read on drilling news, not a quantified resource upgrade. Wait for the technical detail before sizing.

Nothing else on the feed cleared the bar - the remaining mining commentary was either ETF-level, chart-only (First Majestic's 200-day cross), or generic junior-float bullishness without company-specific fundamentals.
