Something shifted in what I’ve been drawn to lately. Not toward a specific aesthetic, exactly, but toward a specific argument: objects that have a reason to exist beyond being looked at. The pill box that holds your vitamins with the same seriousness a jeweler brings to a case. The ashtray that works whether or not you smoke. The towel bar you actually notice.
I’ve been saving things for weeks, and when I finally looked at them all together, the thread was clear. Everyday forms handed to people who take them seriously. Alongside them, some vessels and lighting I can’t stop thinking about.
