NIHS President John Rosenfelder opened the program by reading excerpts of the town reports describing the funds used for electrification.
Presenter Stephen Taylor described the many advantages to electrification as a means of labor reduction and comfort. Work that mostly done by women. Many of us had the opportunity to experience what it life could be without electricity during the outages during the great ice storm in 2008.
We have started to use our Past Perfect software to organize and categorize our collections of artifacts. This is a complex project but we have a dedicated and capable team. Thanks to all members and donor for their financial support that made this possible.
I’ve been directing my effort to our collections of photographs, entering metadata and supporting documentation into the database. These are the photos I processed this week.

No callers today except Lonie. Got letters from John Cummings and Mrs. Hooper. Alice got one from some friend in Bayshore.

Cloudy and warm; wind variable; like to rain in the evening. Rain very much needed. David teaming sand for Barrett in forenoon and at the tennis court in afternoon. I took fowl to Miss Barr’s and picked 6 for Brown Bros. in afternoon. Sewing Circle today. Mrs. Beard called. Got letter from Hamish. Alice one from Bayshore.
Cloudy with slight showers during the night; wind south westerly. David went to Greenville for grain and oatmeal and after at Mrs. Spofford’s till dinner time. I went to office with some letters and called Miss Laura Barr’s who wants 2 broilers tomorrow. Mr. Bauer tuned the piano in Hall and fixed a string. Got letter from Millerton from Marion my sister.
Fair and warm; wind variable; cloudy afternoon. David at Spoffords’ in morning and at tennis court in the afternoon. I picked 2 broilers for Miss Laura Barr. Practice by children in church for Children’s Day tomorrow. Got letter from Johnnie who got a prize of one dollar for spelling. David got a letter from Newcomb and one from Hamish.
