Seconds before
I pulled my heart up out of my throat
held it out like an offering to the wind
said please be gentle with this
it is all I have
a laugh echoes in the open air
as gravity offered me its hand
one step back onto invisible ground is
all it takes
and there time opens up like a lotus
a venus fly trap
mid-snap mid-
drop
mid-fall-
-ing back and
forth and
back to the
world with
in the body
I am learning to listen to
the minor chords swelling in my gut, cells replaced with musical notes and a sweet melody courses through the bloodstream and finally
swung between two freedoms
i have no need for words.

Under the Subscription section, click “change”.
