From June 14th to 22th, 15 fellow photographers from the Photo Club of Draveil and myself had the renewed opportunity to host an exhibition. The name of the exhibition was “À la manière de…” (which means “In the style of…”), and we collectively chose 8 artists to inspire us to create new photos for this exhibition. Following the work started for previous exhibitions, I decided to continue…
From January 18th to 26th, seven fellow photographers from the Photo Club of Draveil and myself had the renewed opportunity to participate in an exhibition. The title was “Carte blanche” (I think this is also used in English 🤔), as each photographer could chose its own preferred theme. Following the work started for previous exhibitions, I decided to continue exploring the world of miniature…
You may have noticed that I started to share some photos from Crete , the beautiful (and largest) Greek island. In fact, these photos come from a travel we made almost 20 years ago! Need I specify that these photos were not geotagged at all? 😅 The fact is I really want all photos I share to be geotagged [1] , so they are shown on the georgous map view . So as I already did several times in the…
French photographer Yann Chemineau organized a monthly photo challenge on Mastodon . With 2 themes every day, you had to post one photo for each theme, or one single photo for both themes, with hashtag #PhotoJanuary2023 . Here's the list of themes, the photos I posted and comments (in French) I made for some: January Theme 1 Theme 2 1st “a 23 but not a calendar” “funny” 🚫 The flowering of the…
I've been disliking for a long time that Instagram is a closed platform, more so in the hands of Facebook. I additionally now really dislike that they are doing everything to resemble TikTok , by prioritizing video more and more, at the expense of photography . As a result, I'm going to stay on it for now, but only keep following people I really know and like. I will find inspiration and share my…
From February 5th to 13th, a dozen fellow photographers from the Photo Club of Draveil and myself had the opportunity to participate in an exhibition. The title was "Regards multiples" ("Multiple perspectives" in English), as each photographer could chose its own preferred theme. The only requirement was that each of us had to exhibit a coherent photographic series, rather than a batch of…
Starting today, the list of photos in the second part of the homepage are the ones I shared the most recently, instead of the ones I took the most recently. It makes much more sense because I don't necessarily share them in order, and I have a lot of photos I took years ago that I still want to share on my site. Also, if you don't plan to come see the site every day (go figure! 😅), I added feeds…
There are more than 250 000 contributors on Unsplash , the main Web’s source of freely-usable images. Today, I learned that I'm part of the TOP 500 contributors, based on downloads of my photos in August! 😲😊 I guess my free sports photography was helpful to illustrate the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (in 2021).
I've been wanting to build my own photo site for years, in my own image, with a total control of the technical platform and the layout of the pages and photos. I am starting this project and will put it online as soon as possible, without waiting for it to be finished, because it will never be.
