A Look At Jimmy Ward

Jimmy Ward never became one of hockey’s household names, but few players were as consistently productive during the National Hockey League’s rugged, low-scoring years of the 1930s.

A dependable right winger with an accurate shot and a knack for timely goals, Ward spent nearly his entire NHL career with the Montreal Maroons, helping the club capture the Stanley Cup in 1935 before finishing his playing days with the rival Montreal Canadiens. While many stars from his era have faded from memory, Ward’s career remains one of the finest in Maroons history.
