The original PlayStation 1 cd audio visualizer running on the web

From Greg: Maybe you were not born in 1994, but regardless, this hack lets you experience what happened when you put an audio cd into a playstation 1. The visualizations and colors are very winamp’y, but still retain a je ne sais what. Great for parties.

The bluesky firehose as your personal dms

From Spencer: Message a bunch of strangers on Bluesky in a personal intimate setting! playing with the difference between intimate DMs and global social media

FLIP TABLE; was a mini-hackathon and showcase for goofy databases: things that read and write arbitrary data, but in a weirdly clever or unexpected way. It featured 24 incredibly flipped tables, ranging from an Etch-a-Sketch database to a collection of actual hair. Data stores were built on top of iNaturalist, load balancers, Mac alarms, Strava, a deck of cards, nonograms, music, and more.

From Marcos: I was really inspired by tom7’s Harder Drives video, in which he made hard drives out of (a) TETRIS (b) COVID Cue tests, and (c) the internet itself (by continually pinging data packets to random servers). I was sure that, given a time and a place, folks would show up with the most beautifully cursed databases, and they did. Shoutout to Hex House for hosting us!

Play Balatro like it’s 2003 again

From Daniel: In 2003 the US government manufactured playing cards with Saddam Hussein and his associates on them to better help American soldiers hunt down Iraqi enemies. As soon as I saw them, I knew they needed a Balatro collab. So I made it.
