GBA Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao and officials reviewed the pending works at the Okalipuram eight-lane corridor and directed agencies to complete them within the revised timeline.
Work on the remaining portions of Bengaluru’s Okalipuram eight-lane corridor is set to be accelerated, with GBA Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao and other officials reviewing the progress of the project and setting a revised timeline for the pending works.
The corridor is located in Okalipuram in Gandhinagar and comes under the Bengaluru Central City Corporation. During the review, officials were instructed to strictly follow the revised schedule and ensure that all the remaining works are completed within the stipulated period.
A major focus of the review was the road connecting the railway station. Officials have been asked to speed up the construction of the approach road as well as the retaining wall works so that the connectivity can be completed without further delay.

The area below the railway track, particularly the box section, will also undergo a cleanliness drive. Officials have been directed to clear the accumulated waste and maintain the area properly.
Water leakage in the railway-related section was another issue discussed during the review. The officials have been instructed to coordinate with railway authorities and take necessary measures to prevent water from entering the work area.
At the construction site, accumulated water is also being removed as part of the ongoing works. Officials have been told to ensure that such waterlogging does not hamper construction activity or affect the surrounding area.
The remaining retaining wall and box-related works are also to be completed on priority. The instructions are aimed at bringing the unfinished portions of the corridor to completion as quickly as possible.
The review also found a significant amount of construction debris at the site. Around 300 loads of debris, including building rubble and soil, are to be removed from the area to clear the work zone and facilitate further construction.

The overall direction from the review was to ensure that there are no further delays in completing the essential works. The agencies concerned have been asked to coordinate wherever necessary and finish the remaining construction, drainage, retaining wall, box and site-clearance works within the stipulated timeframe.
The objective is to complete the pending portions of the Okalipuram eight-lane corridor and make the stretch ready for smooth public movement and traffic.
