Heat advisories lifted as clouds bring relief and rain

. (.)

Round one of showers and thunderstorms has moved across the River City. Models show another round developing before the Jags kickoff and maybe your Friday night plans.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms stretch from the Golden Isles to the River in Putnam County. These will weaken and dissipate as they move toward the beaches.

Another round of showers and thunderstorms will develop between 4 - 5 p.m., in and around I-295 and Downtown. These are expected to fade between 5 and 6 p.m. The short-range forecast calls for drier and calmer conditions between 6 - 7 p.m.

All Heat Advisories have expired thanks to the cooling from the showers and thunderstorms. The weather concerns for the evening will be lightning, locally heavy rain and gusty winds.
