Summer decided to make a comeback. Warm to hot over the next two weeks with moderate humidity to accompany it is going to make this feel like an old-fashioned August after all. The dog days of summer. Popsicles, hotdogs, a pickup baseball game at the park... ok, ok, I’m reliving my childhood in my head, I guess.

A few chances for rain coming up. I’m still interested to see how the drought outlook plays out this week and next week, but in the meantime, passing showers for Thursday and Friday with the potential for thunderstorms Friday as well.

For the weekend, Saturday looks wet with Sunday looking mostly clear.

Speaking of the drought conditions and all the rain a lot of folks have received over the past week, it certainly filled up a lot of the little ponds and streams, but the downside is that that was all from the runoff. All that water needs somewhere to go, and the ground cannot absorb all that water all at once.

As far as big beneficial rain, maybe something in the middle of the month, but until then, just lots of little showers and pop-up storms with no certainty of where they’ll go.
