I shared how I acquired anxiety (social anxiety) recently.
Someone DMed me, asking I “send research” papers proving my lived experiences “that anxiety can be acquired”.
This is my LIVED EXPERIENCE:
I didn’t have this anxiety growing up.
Then people treated me bad.
Next I became anxious.
I wasn’t always like that.
I lived it.
I can clearly remember who I was before developing social anxiety, what it was like when I had social anxiety, and what I am like now that it’s not a thing for me anymore (after years of trauma and shadow work).
There may or may not be research to back up what I experienced…
I honestly don’t care if the research backs it up or not.
My anxiety was a trauma response.
They also went off saying “anxiety isn’t Neurodivergence”…
Excuse me but, the anxiety I had influenced how I experienced the world… and how I communicated and engaged with people.
It definitely was Neurodivergence.
Lived experiences need to be taken more serious. 🧐
