Kevin Kiley, a U.S. Congressman representing California’s 3rd district and former California State Assembly member, has recently voiced concerns on social media about the impact of state policies on young people and consumers.

On August 16, 2026, Kiley posted: "Young people have been failed by California's extreme partisan politics. They've grown up in a state that's less and less affordable. Their well-being was neglected in the COVID years. I'm inspired that so many are fighting to change that. Hear their voices: https://t.co/ZGL8fCM4LS"

In another post dated August 18, 2026, he wrote: "We reversed California’s ban on gas-powered cars so now the state is banning tires instead. This latest blow to common sense could cost drivers hundreds of dollars. https://t.co/lnQxwl1AJU"

Continuing his criticism of recent state measures, Kiley stated on August 19, 2026, "The new Tire Ban will make 70 percent of tires illegal and could cost consumers hundreds of dollars. Newsom supports it. He also signed a new healthcare tax that will increase premiums $400 for a family of four. This is why California is the nation’s least affordable state."

Kevin Kiley began serving in Congress in 2023 after previously holding office in the California State Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Born in Sacramento in 1985, he currently resides in Rocklin. He holds a BA from Harvard University and a JD from Yale University.

These statements come amid ongoing debates over affordability and regulatory policy in California, issues which have drawn attention from both lawmakers and residents statewide.
