I finally hit Master 18 on Greengrass Isle, which unlocks Pokemon Sleep's new Expert Mode - and it turns out Expert Mode quietly changes almost everything about how you should build a team. So the free Pokemon Sleep Roster Analyzer just got its biggest update since launch (v1.13) to model it properly.

What Expert Mode actually changes

In regular play, Snorlax has three equally-weighted favorite berries each week. In Expert Mode (unlocked at Master 18, activated weekly with an Expert Ticket), the weekly picks split into one MAIN favorite and two sub-favorites, and the effects go well beyond berries:

  • Pokemon gathering the main favorite berry help 10% faster and get Main Skill +1
  • Pokemon gathering any favorite share one random weekly bonus: Snorlax strength from Berries x2.4, +1 ingredient per find (+2 for Ingredients specialists), or Main Skill trigger chance x1.25
  • Pokemon whose berry isn't a favorite at all help 15% SLOWER

That last one is the sneaky part. The 15% penalty applies to every help, not just berry hauls - so your off-berry ingredient specialists produce fewer ingredients too, and a dish team that was comfortable last week can miss meals this week purely because of Snorlax's berry mood.

What's new in the analyzer

  • Expert Mode toggle in the Snorlax section. Berry slot 1 becomes the main favorite, slots 2 and 3 the sub-favorites, with badges in Berry Mode showing each Pokemon's status: MAIN, SUB, or the -15% penalty.
  • Speed effects modeled everywhere. The +10% and -15% help-speed modifiers flow through berry production, dish scoring, single-recipe mode, and roster totals - so team recommendations reshuffle correctly when Expert is on.
  • Weekly bonus selector. Tell the tool which random bonus rolled this week and the scoring adapts: the x2.4 strength week favors stacking favorite-berry mons, the +1 ingredient week boosts favorite-berry cooks, and the trigger week nudges you toward Skills specialists.
  • Specialty on every Pokemon. All 219 database entries now carry their specialty class (Berries / Ingredients / Skills), verified against Serebii and cross-checked with Game8. Fun fact from the research: Darkrai is an 'All' specialist, just like Mew. Existing saved rosters pick up specialties automatically.

Try it

The update is live now at the Pokemon Sleep Roster Analyzer - free, ad-free, and everything stays in your browser. Load your roster, flip on Expert Mode, set the week's berries and bonus, and see which of your mons just got a promotion (or a 15% demotion). Good luck out there, and may your main favorite line up with your best berry squad.
