Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, doesn't seem to think so. He sees a different path, one where our digital experiences are not solitary but shared, not passive but active.

As we stand on the brink of this new era, we find ourselves faced with a choice. OpenAI, led by CEO Sam Altman, has confirmed it's not close to starting work on GPT-5, following concerns about the rapid advancement of AI. Altman pushed back on calls for an AI development pause, stating the organization was already assessing potential dangers through audits and safety tests. He also shared OpenAI's stance against regulating smaller AI startups and highlighted his efforts in meeting global lawmakers and industry stakeholders to discuss potential AI abuses and necessary safeguards.
