How To Make Awesome Comics (That Are ABOUT DONUTS)

Hello, readers of the Neill Cameron Newsletter! As it so happens, I have a bunch of exciting Neill Cameron News for you! Plus all the usual nonsense.

ITEM: Exciting show news! To celebrate the upcoming release of both Donut Squad: Destiny of the Donuts and the new version of How To Make Awesome Comics, I’m going to be doing another SUPERFAN EVENT with Waterstones in London. It’ll be at Conway Hall on Saturday 24 October, and I can tell you right now I have some FUN THINGS planned for it. For one thing, everyone who comes along will get an exclusive signed giant poster that I designed specially for the occasion! And that looks like this:

ITEM: Other fun upcoming stuff! I’m off to the Edinburgh next week for the book festival, and I’m afraid tickets sold out ages ago, but I have managed to extend my trip so as to visit some booksellers and sign some stock at various bookshops in both St Andrews and Glasgow too. So, if you live in either of those places, look for some signed books I guess? THEN, Saturday 19th September I’ll be at the Oxford Canal Festival, doing a bit of a comics workshop with my pals from the Story Museum. Entry is free, check out their website for details! THEN a couple of weeks after that I’m at the Bath Children’s Literature Festival doing a solo Donut Squad show and then taking part in a Big Spectacular Phoenix Draw-Off with Laura Ellen Anderson, Thiago De Moraes and Jess Bradley. ANXIETYLAND by Gemma Correll - a comics memoir of growing up with an anxiety disorder, I really loved this. Its directness is incredibly funny, its clarity profoundly useful, and I think it will be of genuine help to a lot of people. Never have I resented relating to a book so much. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
