Residents of Hub are being denied the basic right to clean drinking water because of severe mismanagement and inequality in the city’s water distribution system.
While commercial suppliers prioritise businesses, ordinary and low-income families are left without affordable pipeline water. The city depends on a single pipeline that fails to provide safe water to many low-income areas. Water obtained from rivers is often contaminated, contributing to the spread of disease.
The authorities must act immediately. Fair access to clean drinking water is not a privilege but a fundamental right that the people of Hub can no longer be denied.
