Hey Friends,
November 16th marked the end of the first 30 day Digital Minimalist Cohort! For those of you who participated in any form, congratulations.
I recently posted a video about my own experience going through the 30 day (and in my case, 50 day) cohort. If you haven’t seen it, you can check it out here.
The video shares my own reflections, but I want to hear from all of you. Whether you finished the full 30 days or not, whether you just started or only thought about joining, I want to better understand your experience. I’ve put together a short feedback survey, and I’d be extremely grateful if you filled it out. Your thoughts will help shape the next cohort for the better.

My friend Nick and I are building an open source webapp to guide the second cohort (target date January). It will include a dashboard with daily reflections, prompts, and tools designed to support the 30 day reset in a more structured way.
Over the past few months I’ve been reading everything I can from the smartphone and internet addiction literature. The goal is simple: pull the most effective, evidence based interventions from the research and build them directly into the experience. The links between smartphone overuse and depression, anxiety, social isolation, and reduced meaning in life are becoming clearer, and early causal evidence is starting to emerge. When you are dealing with this many important outcomes, you can’t rely on guesswork.
That’s why the next version will include validated scales, scientifically supported interventions, and a little bit of our own extra flair. We’re even reaching out to researchers in this space to see if there’s room for collaborations.
Thank you again for being here and for giving your attention to something that asks you to use it differently. Your feedback shapes everything we do next, and I’m looking forward to refining the next cohort so it supports you even better.
Cheers,
Nathan Laundry
