Israel’s Revival Formula

There’s no greater worldwide feeling than when a band gets back together.

I had tickets to see Oasis play their first show back together at Old Trafford in Manchester — gave them away to a worship pastor and his wife from London. Devastating, actually. I was booked to preach in Australia and said yes to a youth conference.

I saw Radiohead play their last European date in Berlin in December of last year. I knew every song by heart. My cup ranneth over.

I really wanna see The Eagles at The Sphere in Vegas. Joe Walsh sounds better than ever, I really can’t believe it. My fall schedule is packed — Australia twice, Japan, other long hauls I don’t even wanna think about right now.

My old man took me to see Steely Dan about twenty years ago — at Massey Hall in downtown Toronto. Walter Becker and Donald Fagan were supported by an incredible band. I knew like 70% of the tunes, I wasn’t as into them as I am now, which sucks because I missed out on so much joy. I’ll never forget Dad high fiving bro’s from high school at the show — I remember thinking, “My Dad is such a G.”

When the band got back together in Israel, things shifted.

If you look at the major reforms of Israel — and boy, do I have a chart for you — you’re going to notice a pattern so consistent it should be admissible in the court of your ecclessiology.

Some of y’all are still thinking, “Do us Pentecostals just make this stuff up as we go? Where is this in church history?”

My beef with you is that you aren’t going back far enough. You think church history started with the book of Acts, and nothing could be farther from the truth. Paul calls Israel the Church in the Wilderness. He tells the Corinthians, “Our fathers passed through the Sea.” Peter tells the churches throughout Asia Minor, “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people for God’s own possession.” lol bro literally rips what Moses called Israel and just slaps that sticker on the Gentile church.

It’s more than words, bruh. It’s Fulfillment.
