Breaking Down Interior Design's Barriers.

Hi Friends,

For as long as I can remember, interior design has felt like this exclusive club—high fees, no transparency, and an insider-only vibe. If you weren’t already “in the know,” chances are you were left out. And honestly? That never sat right with me. 15 years working in the industry in real estate as a broker with The Penzo Team, and Co-Founder of Urban Blueprint, I kept hearing the same thing - people frustrated with the process of hiring a designer especially if they wanted to do one or a few rooms versus a full scope construction project. The aha moment came during the pandemic when I had time to reflect: How could I bring this service to more people so they could get the vision for their interiors out of their head and into their home.

Starting building proof of concept with amazing support and early adopters along the way

That frustration is what led me to start Homekin.

This fall, we’re launching Canada’s first interior design marketplace that makes finding the right designer quick, transparent, and affordable. The way it works is simple: our algorithm matches you with a vetted designer who’s the right fit for your style, budget, and needs. From there, you can collaborate through an easy-to-use dashboard that keeps everything organized in one place.

Here’s why I’m so excited about this:

  • First of its kind in Canada — no more endless scrolling or guessing who’s legit.

  • Transparent pricing — flat-rate packages starting at $299 for virtual and $695 for in-person.

  • Real results for real budgets — layout plans, curated shopping lists, and access to trusted vendors (the kind of stuff that usually runs $3,000+) are now available for under $900.

The timing couldn’t be better. More Canadians than ever are investing in their homes, not just as places to live, but as places to thrive. And with Homekin, we’re making sure great design isn’t reserved for the few—it’s open to everyone.

Some recent spaces and happy customers :)

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be sharing stories from our early beta users (the before-and-afters are amazing) and pulling back the curtain on what goes into making this platform work. We are early stages and will be listening to your feedback to give you the customer the exact product and customer journey you desire.

For me, this isn’t just about a startup launch—it’s about reshaping an industry that desperately needed to be more inclusive. And I can’t wait to see what you all think.

Talk soon,
