It’s no secret that brighter colors and are trending, and while I’ve dabbled in some color, I find that what really like is the simplicity, minimalism and groundedness of a neutral, mix and match wardrobe. Instead of color, I like to focus on shape, texture and styling.

There’s no right way or wrong way to do personal style unless you’re simply copying someone else’s style and find yourself wondering why you “aren’t pulling it off.” I think there is definitely value in trying out looks you see on others (I do it all the time — inspo here!), but rarely is an outfit killer when it’s not adapted to your personality and your real life, and a reflection of your own taste.

When your wardrobe doesn’t feel like it’s working for you, you likely don’t need more clothes. Editing things down tends to offer more clarity for me than adding more. And then once that’s done, the new items that come in are added more intentionally and in line with who you are and what your actual lifestyle is. Easier said than done, no doubt, but it definitely rings true for me.

While I’m definitely still in summer mode over here, fall is just around the corner and I’m thinking about when I can finally rewear some of my favorite layered looks. Keep reading to see what I’m excited to repeat this upcoming season!

It won’t be cooling down here in San Diego for a while, but you better believe I have fall on the brain and am looking forward to wearing and layering my jackets, coats and sweaters soon. Here are a few looks from the past I can’t wait to repeat:

P.S. You can what I’ve been wearing this past week in Outfit Diary section!

Monday was absolutely the highlight of my week, because it’s the night we saw Noah Kahan perform here in San Diego at Petco Park. It was such a great show! I’ve had him on repeat quite literally the entire summer and it was a treat to get to sing along to the songs in person and just enjoy the live show energy.

My favorite songs he played were Orbiter, Northern Attitude, Homesick, End of August and Willing and Able (cue the tears streaming down my face during that one).

Pre-show dinner and drinks at Lionfish were excellent!

Your excitement over our newest Vesper Tote has me SO eager to launch it — we are in production on it (they’re responsibly made in LA with sustainably sourced leather) and you can join the waitlist here to be the first to shop when they’re available. Here’s a BTS peek at this beauty from our photoshoot on Wednesday:

I made some updates to my Substack here that I wanted to be sure you didn’t miss:

  1. OUTFIT DIARY SERIES | I share my daily looks on ShopMy and sometimes on Instagram, but decided that I really wanted a place for them to live here on Substack, especially since I’m able to combine video, photo and text all in one place. It’s easy to reference, easy to save and easy to browse. Hope you like it! To reduce the amount of alerts you get, I’ve decided not to push out an email/Substack app notification on these posts.

  2. PAID SUBSCRIPTIONS (FOR CHARITY) | I now offer a paid subscription to In the Details, and 100% of those profits are donated to charity. Donations will be made quarterly and I will provide regular updates on the impact we’re having through our shared contributions. When you upgrade to a paid In the Details subscription, you will be supporting Chamber of Mothers, the largest nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to winning federal paid leave, affordable and accessible childcare, and improved maternal health outcomes for all Americans. Note that all posts are free until automatically archived after 2 weeks, and paid subscribers have full access to the archives (including packing lists, capsules and more!)

Until next time!

xx Natalie
