Thank you to everybody who joined our cording 101 zoom! During the call, we covered how to determine the perfect string length to get your ideal cording length.
I’ve made a handy cord calculator that you can also use to determining your perfect string length.
Please download or make a copy for personal use instead of adding your measurement to the master.
To determine how long you need the strings for your cording to be, loosely measure around your needlepoint and include a loop at the top. Make sure to follow any turns and divots in the piece.
The easiest way to measure this is to use a soft tape measure which will be flexible enough to go all the way around and create a loop.
Once you have that measurement, multiply that measurements by 1.5. This will be the perfect length for your cording!
