· This person (or people) may be living or deceased

· For marketing purposes; more on this in a later module

· Sometimes called an avatar

· At the other end of this writing process is a single person (hopefully many of them!) reading your book

· Choose that one person, real or imaginary; if the person is imaginary, describe him or her in exact detail

· As you write your book, fix on that person in your mind and write your book to that person

· If this person is imaginary, describe him/her in sufficient detail such that you believe you know this person
